Out of interest Rusty, how did you come across it? I ask because we know in the past they've set the sale up with crew members. The beach buggy episode comes to mind - the guy who bought it appeared in the end credits!

Great episode and what a stunning car. The footage of the Mustang being driven through California does make you think there's a better life elsewhere doesn't it...

Was this also the first outing for Edd's satin black paint this season too? On the steering ram.

My son Adam found an ad online ( can't remember the site but Adam will prob join the chat soon and will hopefully remember). The ad showed a similar car and said it would look like that one when painted but you had to be filmed "buying" it on the Discovery channel so we twigged. After a few calls and emails we went to see it and the price agreed @£24,500 after they paid us £500 appearance fee.

Love 67's, yours looks beautiful and is a credit to you. Engine/trans?
Mines a 390 with a C6 Auto. I have the Marti Report which confirms it is a GTA, with deluxe interior and exterior, and quite a few other options. Nothing else compares to driving it, driving a space ship would cause less attention as I'm sure your finding out!

Here's a few pics of the finished article -

Great episode tonight, and thoroughly enjoyable with a great car.

Even the steering committee loved the car (and she hates Fords with a passion, after some major Ford borkage in the past).

we can't claim any glory as we just paid money for a finished car - you on the other hand have done a fantastic job - would love to see it sometime - we're in Ilford in Essex

I'm in Nottingham, so not exactly down the road. Shame, as I would love to see yours aswell!

I'm sure something will work out - not used pistonheads much but if you can send private messages send me your email address and number and I'll contact you about a trip I hopefully have planned to the NEC Classic Car Show next month with the car as I think Wheeler Dealers will want it on their stand. Maybe we could meet up there.

I do hope it's on the Wheeler Dealers stand; I'd love to see it.

When mike drove it at the start there was a big puff of smoke came out the left hand exhaust. Wonder if anything was done in the engine or was it just because the car had been sitting for a while?

Not sure. The engine was replaced in the states and I know that it needed nothing other than an oil change etc over here. It doesn't smoke at all and runs really well so hopefully all's well in that department. There are plenty of little jobs to do in the interior, all of which can be done in time but all the hard mechanical and exterior work's been done so we can just use it and enjoy it in the meantime.

Got it. Give me a few days to find out I they want it on the stand and I'll get back to you. I'll be going to the show anyway so will try to take the car (weather permitting) even If the WD guys don't need it for the stand

Nice comments, thanks very much. She'd probably like this Ford as it actually steers and stops properly. It feels more like a 5 years old car than one that's 45 year old. Bit gutted really cos it drives better than other cars we own and have restored and I didn't do any of the work on this one (I suppose it makes sense really - they have far deeper pockets than we do !)
