Heads up. A seventies Beetle this evening - bound to be a very sound and rust free purchase, am sure.

What a clown Mario is.

Subaru engine doesn't slot straight into Beetle shocker.

Why cut the floor out. Would it not have been easier to unbolt and lift the body off. Then replace the whole thing.

Watching this now and thought I'd look for a thread on this show.

That Subaru looked quite clean and original. Shame really.

Wheres that test track then?
Chertsey test track in Surrey and you can see it if you squint through the trees half way between J2 and J3 on the south side of the M3. It used to be MOD but is now a massive film set.
thumbup My new mission in life is to see it through the trees biggrin

Have a look on google maps, it is massive. It is fractionally north & west of the M3W & M25S junction

I am possibly being a little thick, but surely they should have up rated the gearbox, suspension and brakes after adding that Impreza engine?

Would they have done it but just not mention it?

I thought that, then I realised it's all part of the "story" set up by the TV production company. Quite why they think the viewing public will believe it is beyond me.

BTW the "expert" Bernie immediately recognised the Bond Bug when of course it was a Bond 875.

And as for "valuer" (I use that term loosely) Paul O'Neill - "are those sports seats you've fitted?". Just about the most banal sentence of the series. The whole thing would appeal to a 12-year old.

Bernie's MUM taught him how to weld?!?

Mario's role gets dumber by the minute. "Start the car, Mario" - whoops, I've also put my foot on the clutch, engaged gear, let out the clutch and stood on the accelerator.

Here are the mankiest, most unsuitable pair of seats that the props department could lay hands on. But the team then trump Mario's stupidity by proceeding to FIT THE BLOODY THINGS!

"duh, these seats not work...my brain hurts..."
