The Iceman
Winona Ryder stole the show here, a good film but I felt that the pacing was a little off.
7/10
Hmm I thought it was pretty disappointing. Poor character development and lost its way. 6/10Winona Ryder stole the show here, a good film but I felt that the pacing was a little off.

The poor character development and lack of pacing is why I didn't give it an 8/10
I was desperate for it to be better than it was... after seeing Michael Shannon in Take Shelter, and Bug... but it just felt flat, which is odd given the subject material.Watched "The Railway Man" the other night, a very moving, powerful film, slow but gripping. The true story of a man held by the Japanese and forced to help build a railway during WW2, the torture, the aftermath......A solid 8.
Well, it's not exactly a film, but the first series of Orphan Black is currently going up on iPlayer as it's being rerun very late nights on BBC3. But don't let that put you off! It's as cheesy as hell, but I thought I'd watch one episode just to see what the fuss was about. Several hours later, and I'd finished all the episodes currently available. Man, it's good.
Tv rating = 8/10
If it was a film, 5/10, due to the cheese factor and some massive plot holes.

Watched Blade 1 - 3
B1 = 7/10
B2 = 6.5/10
B3 = 7/10
Vampire ninjas is all a bit of daft tosh but it was entertaining enough.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to like B3. It strikes me that each 'chapter' has a different feel about it which a lot of peeps didn't like but it really worked for meB1 = 7/10

Rocky Balboa. Brilliant film. I knew Sly was a capable actor, but after first watching this I saw he could be a good actor.
Ties with Rocky for best boxing film.
Sly = great actor rather than good Ties with Rocky for best boxing film.
I hope he does more stuff like that, but then Rocky is a special character and we've seen him grow over 30 years.
I wouldn't mind another Rambo film, but more like First Blood/Rambo than the middle two.
I wanna see him stretch himself more.
2 months free of Now TV movies.
Can watch online or via PS3 for example

Still works so the cut off date isn't 13th April.

Locke - 90 minutes with the camera focused on a man driving down the motorway, talking to various people on the phone, as he tries to deal with his life falling apart.
Absolutely brilliant (although I suspect it is very much a "marmite" film).
Saw the trailer for that the other day. Dodgy accent aside it looks rather interesting. Is it an F10 M5 that Mr Hardy is driving?Absolutely brilliant (although I suspect it is very much a "marmite" film).

Locke is extremely good - the man's life falls apart as he drives. Or does it ? Lots of concrete stuff and no worse for that . It is more of a radio play than a film but definitely worth seeing. He drives a BMW 4x4 -can't really be arsed to recall which one as it isn't remotely important. He drives along motorways at night and he talks and he talks - avoid Locke if you expect J turns , explosions, chases or girls whose vests are too small for their contents.Judging by the trailer trash which preceded Locke ,these elements comprise the key feature of most new releases.
