Though i do love some of the customs they do and would love to be able to do something (or pay someone in my case) to do some sort of crazy swap, but the costs just dont seem correct. The hellscout is being offered as a competition prize but unfortunately only open to American citizens,
I quite like Kindig Customs (which is also transmitted as bhin' Rides depending on which channel it is on). Some great design, impressive fabrication, realistic timescales, and far less self-aggrandisement.

Ok thanks, ill have to track it down as im assuming its on Discovery originally.

Also, one thing i dont get, and its probably been mentioned in these pages but the mark-up he can supposedly get for some of the cars with an on-screen buyer yet doesnt do so well at auction

For similar reasons I liked Mobsteel however as far as I know they only made one series of it.

Did nothing for my Lincoln Continental urges too

Mobsteel became Detroit Steel for the second series.

Iron Resurrection (Martin Brothers Customs) is worth a watch.

Keep an eye on Quest for repeats of Discovery programmes.

FOund this thanks as it popped up as something i might like to watch on NowTV.

Must say, as an entertainment programme, FNL is much more interesting with the 'cast' being more relaxed around the camera. It would be interesting to see what they fabricate in the shop or what sort of capabilities they have compared to KC or who could build the best hot-rod.

But like you say, KC is alot more interesting from a technical point of view, the staff seem more at ease with each other and Dave comes across as being loved by his staff (certainly in Season 1), but then some of the staff seem to be trying to hard in front of the camera and they come across as being abit awkward.

On a side note, the SHART is up for sale, POA though

I've noticed a subtle difference in flavour between the programmes that are transmitted as "B*itchin' Rides" and the shows that are transmitted as "Kindig Customs". The latter seems to emphasise the design and fabrication a little more, and the former seems to emphasise the dicking around a little more. Or perhaps it is the case that the former is an earlier show and the latter is simply more polished as a result of being a later iteration. I'm not sure.

But, yes, Dave seems like a genuinely great guy, and humble with it, rather than a narcissist like Richard Rawlings is.

Yeah, RR does appear that way, i cant believe how much beer he supposedly drinks but there you go. Though he does apparently do alot of work for local Charities as well so cant be all that bad.

What i do find laughable over both both programmes is the blurring out of logos, in one scene theyll blur a logo on a wall/t-shirt etc then the next, its in full view.

And the will they/wont they finish it sort of st yet in the quick recap post break, they show said car driving about

Well, quite. They are allegedly working all hours and bringing it right down to the wire, yet at the same time have plenty of time to do a filmed segment on the finished car. Ok, perhaps this is filmed after delivery in which case the car would have to be sold/delivered on the understanding that it was made available for filming that segment.

Also, have you noticed how often allegedly sold / delivered cars show up in the background?

I think it's exactly the same programme (all six series are shown under both titles), just renamed because "bh" is, apparently, a swear word. rolleyes

You probably caught an early series as Kindig Customs and later series as B*tchin' Rides.

Yep, this week (it might not be NowTV has completely lost the plot with FnL this year) it showed them having the first 2 Thunderbirds in the showroom, I'm sure they restored and sold hem a few years ago for an obscene amount of money.

Theres a camaro on the episode I'm watching, twin turbo, supercharged engine with abit of nos as well

Anyway, I'm wondering what would be a British hot rod equivalent car that's recognisable to the Americans

I'm thinking old school defender, on air bags, ls engine etc

Hotted-up E-Type I would guess.

They did an 80s Roller back in one of the early series. It didn't get much interest at sale time...

The amount of bodging that goes on there is frightening.
They don't have the best reputation.
Kindigit are head and shoulders above any hot rod shop tv show in terms of craftsmanship

They are. The quality of their work is amazing... Jordan's custom made exhaust welding, for example, is pornographic.

I'm not too fussed about the bodging if the TV is entertaining. I do like Kindigit but I get a bit bored sometimes watching it.

They do seem to pad out an episode on bhin by showing some of the fabrication happening, ie 1-2 minutes showing someone using a the England Wheel for stretching some metal etc.

It seems to take an average of a 1 year to do a custom project for a measly minimum sum of 250k (according to google)

Just caught the F40 program. I thought the end result looked horrible. Can I have my F40 in original red please? Apparently it has changed hands several times since, for far less money than unmolested ones.

Loved the 65/66 911.

It will though as its a crash repaired modified F40 in a non-resale red colour.

Even at the end of the first episode it was unveiled it had the standard red seats in it rather the 'custom' Recaro's and had the normal LM headlights in it rather than the LED units. It's a bit of a bizarre car really. Looks cool though
