US shows are known for making a last series and half for the last year.

If it is 20 we can expect a long mid season break half way through rolleyes

16 episodes listed for S4 on IMDB so far.
Yep this, Season 4 has just started on Amazon Prime. I think we get 10 episodes in a row now, and the other 10 in the autumn.

I absolutely love Vikings, can't get enough of it. It has a more grungy 'Braveheart' feel to it compared to Game of Thrones, and I definitely prefer it too. Mostly all filmed in Ireland, so I'm keen to try and find some of the locations. Especially the beach used for Kattegat, looks superb.

Strangely enough, I've just spent a week in a tent in the Sahara with a Irish guy that played a monk who gets his head chopped up smile

Here's his ugly mug ...

Excellent, thanks! That does look like it, bookmarked. Will have to make a trip over there, and not too far from Dublin either.

Latest series seems to have increased production values. Lots of shots from the air, more plot strands and larger cast. History Channel must think they have a winner on their hands. First series felt pretty parochial, this one is a real step-up and great entertainment IMO.

I hope others are still watching this. Just finished episode 6 of season 4. Ragnar's vision with that score at the end. Words fail me.

Very good episode. Have you watched from the first series? The way the series has evolved up to now is a lesson in storytelling. GOT could learn a thing or two..

Also finding American Crime Story compelling.

Yep, onboard from day one. Travis Fimmel has been a revelation, he's transformed.

Yes, I too like Travis Fimmel. I was worried they were gonna kill him off at the end of the third season. The guy who plays his son (the eldest) is a beast, too!

Still worried that Floki (sp?) will try to kill Ragnar...

I think Ragnar is a legend rather than a historical figure but he's apparently based on a number of real people, one of whom was killed by the King of Northumbria when he was betrayed by someone close to him. I wonder if that's the direction they will go. In that story the kids go mental and destroy most of Northumbria in revenge. I think that could work

Love this series and it offers something a bit more down to earth compared to game of thrones. Surprised there isn't more talk about it.

Love Ragnar he is hilarious in his mannerism's. Lagertha is hot!

Only managed season one, and despite the show being filled with good actors, good acting and a good general plot I couldn't get over the fake Scandinavian accents, which I find utterly pointless and the fact that the surroundings albeit beautiful is NOT Scandinavia, I know it isn't because I live there biggrin Remember watching the first episodes thinking to myself...thats not in Sweden, nor Nowyay and especially not Denmark. Ireland maybe? Correct in my assumption i was apparently biggrin

I might give it another try.

Edit: I am aware that the whole story is not taking place in the Scandinavian countries but in England and probably a few other places aswell, it's just the Scandinavian nature depicted is all wrong. Maybe being petty here, I know biggrin

Latest episode was spectacular, depicting one of the historical Viking attempts on Paris.

I'll miss this series when it finishes.

Don't like seeing Ragnar become unhinged though. Want to see him act like a the boss he was last season!

ETA although Hapthor is Icelandic I think they had a Viking link too?
