I don’t get the start of the show where they show the car and some of the fixes BEFORE they show brewer going to look at it and buy it ?
It isn't broadcast live.Telly programmes do it all the time.

It's standard, and annoying, practice in any kind of reality show these days to show a preview of what's coming up at the start, and what's coming up after the break, along with recaps of what has previously happened following every ad break. I don't know if it's because people today have such a short attention span that they need constant reminders of what they're watching, or if it's just a means of filling time so that they only need 30 minutes of unique content in a one hour show, rather than 40.

It's a "Coming up..." section that most Reality Shows have now. Nicely lampooned by Mitchel and Webb...

There was a lot of unnecessary jeopardy. Everything costs 5k etc. Why would you think that all the calipers, discs and pads need replacing just because it pulls under braking? The caliper rebuild is an easy DIY job so I don't know why Ant didn't do it, rather than suggesting you need to take it to a specialist.
They could have taken the car to an OPC to fix everything and it wouldn't have cost 5k...
Brewer always needs to use his "contacts" to fix some irrelevant issue. Some of the cars have been bought specifically for the contact/sponsor to "fix".They could have taken the car to an OPC to fix everything and it wouldn't have cost 5k...
As for it would be cheaper at Porsche, the dealer wanted $5k to replace disks and pads on my Cayenne GTS. I bought the parts for about $500 and changed them myself. The sad part of that was that I had maintained my car in the dealer network and decided to go independent.

I don't think any big US 'reality' show is any better, once it starts making millions as a TV show, real life gets far to unpredictable to fit in with a filming schedule and there's far more money to be made by selling 'merch' and such that there is building cars / mining gold or such like.
Um there is one.... The cases are real, the people are real and the rulings are final!

Quest have been showing the Dodge this evening.
Ant must have been embracing his inner Idris Elba in that episode whenever it came to pronouncing the letter H
Edit - plus another cringeworthy test drive segment at the end - oh dear we've emptied the tank already and need to fill it up, Mike with ice cream brain freeze and then tick off various "we're in the USA" boxes by referencing the constitution & NASCAR before ending up on a circuit and another oh dear we've run out of fuel again.

I love the old SRT10. That shape was when they last got the styling right. I wanted one but the quad cab was too expensive, at the time, plus a guy near me had the 5.7 Bumblebee and reported fuel consumption in the 9s so it put me off. US gas prices, fine. In the UK, prohibitive. Worth it in a Viper, maybe. Parts prices are plainly not cheap, either. You'd also need a hefty lift to get one off the ground !Ant must have been embracing his inner Idris Elba in that episode whenever it came to pronouncing the letter H

What annoyed me was the black wheels. You have to dechrome before they can be painted or powder coated. Not cheap or ecologically sound.

I love Ant's over acting skills. Is he servicing a car or removing a tumor from within someones brain ? Totally over reacts.
Anyone notice that every engine he works on is clean, spottlessly clean ? Plus the list of `adidtional` mechninics used in each show, as listed in the credits ? About 4.

They mostly seem to involve clutch changes and suspension swaps. I always got the impression that there was a lot more variety in what Edd took on, and he did more jobs on each car.
That SRT-10, clutch swap, brake bleed, debadge, wheel refurb...not exactly cutting edge mechanical stuff.
It seems really dumbed down and having more of Brewer is not a positive thing.
The show has gone mainstream US market lowbrow, don't think I'll watch any more of the new stuff.

9 mpg by that faux pickup truck but its ok because its the USA.
Gas prices may be lower but everything is 5-6 times further away and your vehicle does 50-75% less mpg.
couple that with the US gallon being smaller and only the deluded would think its the land of milk and honey.
Also wheeler Dealers USA is a low banter and bargaining show. Must be something frowned on in the USA.
Imagine car SOS USA and tim trying to screw free work out of everyone lol.

That's basically why Edd left as the network wanted to make it less technical/mechanical. I still watch it but have been enjoying past episodes with Edd more. Oddly, Ant is clearly very capable, just isn't used in the same way. They mostly seem to involve clutch changes and suspension swaps. Don't know if I've just had enough now, or if he's turned up his "'old aaat cher 'and" act up to 11, but I really can't abide the bloke.
I now record new episodes of WD, skip past Brewer's segment, watch Ant do his thing and then skip past the godawful scripted nonsense at the end.
Makes each episode last approx. 20 minutes.
Job's a good 'un
