I’ve just binged the Cayenne, Datsun and Jeep. This series runs further down hill with far less technical stuff and an over-long drawn out test drive at the end. What is also weird in these times is how touchy-feely MB is with the people he interacts with!

Does everything have to be “swapped out” and “deleted” instead of “changed” and “removed”?

I almost watch it out of habit these days...

I used to be able to put with Brewer. He seemed more 'tolerable' a few years ago... and like him or loathe him, he was part of WD.

Don't know if I've just had enough now, or if he's turned up his "'old aaat cher 'and" act up to 11, but I really can't abide the bloke.

I now record new episodes of WD, skip past Brewer's segment, watch Ant do his thing and then skip past the godawful scripted nonsense at the end.

Makes each episode last approx. 20 minutes.

Job's a good 'un
That's how everyone watches it...

It must be popular for a reason and it isn't due to man buys car and takes it to man who fixes car.
Thats just like the general publics life.

I found Brewer's first TV foray 'Deals on Wheels' pretty watchable in the day. He's more annoying now without a doubt.

I was actually quite enjoying last night’s episode on the CJ7 as there was a lot more Ant and far less Mike. However my renewed enthusiasm was soon dispelled. rofl

I love Ant's over acting skills. Is he servicing a car or removing a tumor from within someones brain ? Totally over reacts.

Anyone notice that every engine he works on is clean, spottlessly clean ? Plus the list of `adidtional` mechninics used in each show, as listed in the credits ? About 4.
It's funny, I've watched a few of the new ones recently, and I was thinking they'd have benefited from a good degreaser before he started, in fact back to the Edd China days, a quick power wash would have given them nicer bits to work on.

Anyway, I've quite enjoyed the last 2 I caught on quest, a 90s Elan, and a MINI Cooper S MC40 edition.

Just saw the Mazdaspeed episode. They really jumped the shark on that one. Rather than replace the atmospheric BOV, we'll fab a baffled silencer for it and also the intake.... 'dafuk....

An Audi and a Porsche 4x4 , so presumably Cayenne , no thanks.
Its a no from me .
Stick to old ,semi classic and unusual stuff .
Given so many episodes have been done they cannot redo a car they have previously done so need to look wider

They did a Range Rover more than once plus Land Rover maybe twice? Luckily they have lots of different things to go wrong.

In general, perhaps, although there have been many cars that have been featured multiple times over the years. I think it's just the case that these sort of cars are the current cheap shed equivalent of the bread and butter stuff they've always done in amongst the more interesting classics.

Currently watching the current episode on the 300zx. Why didn't Ant replace the sensor in the gearbox when the engine was out? Why put the engine, exhaust etc back together before dismantling it to get the sensor out?? Seems mad.

There must be literally thousands of classic cars that haven't been done yet .

Going back in time , who had ever heard of the Eastern Bloc Syrena thing they did ?

That was an unusual choice .

I know of a FIAT Barchetta that needs some TLC......whistle

The 'stock' exhaust they fitted clearly has "MAGNAFLOW" * stamped on it during the closing sequence at Willow Springs...

That was very odd. I also liked the aftermarket wheels and was a bit confused about putting all the smog stuff back on. Why not just sell it in another state ? Or were they doing their bit for the environment ?

I also noticed that Ant mentioned the car had brand new adjustable suspension. Strange (again) how that didn't make the list of costs! Nor the new steering wheel.

As for putting it back to stock, that's what they've been doing for a while now.

I am usually quite a tolerant person but I found Brewer particularly annoying in last night's episode and the drifting of the car after the rebuild a complete load of bks.

I think it had the suspension when they bought it.
I get the back to stock thing sometimes, but putting the wheels back to stock in particular seemed a backwards step to me.
