Watched the BMW "M"335i episode and there's definitely some Enron-style accounting going on. Final version has different wheels and M3 door mirrors but they don't appear in the pricing.

Ah well, it's entertainment and a motoring show so I can't really complain.

Just watching the yellow Golf episode. Elvis' welding is worse than mine!

The episode, the Golf or Elvis' welding?

I thought the patch did not look a particularly good fit?

Agreed, and then it became miraculously smooth and yellow

I suspect they gave Elvis a small bit that they knew he'd cock up, and then somebody else who can actually weld did a proper repair off-camera.

Probably not a lot of call for welders in F1. Although he seems to know his way around a DA...

Not these days, although I do recall Tony Southgate talking about doing some welding on an F1 car with wet blankets over the fuel tanks.

His soldering on the ignition switch bypass bodge was dreadful as well! Guessing he’s only good at joining metal together if there’s a screw thread involved.

But he can do that really quickly.

Which kind of suggests be wasn't chosen for his skills. Not sure why else he's there, though.

If you can’t put a small effort in and learn to solder or weld it doesn’t say much really.

Watched the episode on Land Rover Series 1 - making it "original". Yet they fitted signal indicators with Hex Bolts! Don't think hex bolts existed in 1954, so they failed in making it "original",

Same here! No wonder they only showed one side!

They messed up the continuity, one minute they were prepping it, then they showed a picture of it finished and went back to prepping it. I don't think they mentioned the fact that it sounded like a bag of spanners when mike got it, and drove it back!

I rather enjoyed that Bedford Dormobile episode but don't think the red cabinets suited it especially when they painted it in the blue colour. That chap Derek?? looked to have some interesting motors in his shed. Noticed a GTO. I like Elvis as he explains everything very well and doesn't play up to the camera like Ant did but saying that I did like some of the work that Ant did.
I’m so behind i’ve just watched this one.
Not sure when it was filmed but I’m fumin hun.

Bought for £4.5k, Spend around £6k (God knows how many man hours) and sell for a measly £11.5k.

Buyer must have thought it was Christmas, I thought they were gonna be on for £20k minimum.

Looks like the buyers doubled his money nearly too ffs and can’t even be arsed to fix the headlining

I think the the saying 'If you can't say anything positive, don't say anything at all' springs to mind.

whistle

Not watched it yet.

Am I safe in assuming that the phrase "Rally legend " is used as often as reminding us that Elvis worked for an F1 team?
For me the most shocking part was cruising around Birmingham without getting pulled over.

I watched one on Quest TV over the weekend that I'd not seen or heard of before. It was talking about "paying it forward" where they were to tidy up their editors Mid 2000's Ford Mustang.
It was one with Ant in it so it wasn't new (it said season 16 episode 15) it was basically a compilation of clips we'd already seen (Mike pulling up, Mike saying the same stuff, Mike going to see his friends at whatever business) they didn't even do anything on the Mustang..
They just swapped the car for a boring white Dodge Challenger!
