Whilst it's easy to knock WD I suggest that those of you who bang on about watches, nick names, footwear, etc think back to the worst pile of horse poo ever to grace our screens and which makes WD look like a BAFTA contender: I give you Goblin Works Garage.
You're forgetting Pimp My Ride and Chop Shop laugh

Allegro VP on Monday, TIG, MIG and gas bottles at the ready.

I will be surprised if it is not a rust bucket unless Mike has found one in a heated garage. Maybe a change of direction for WD restoring rather than refurbishing them?

We will see.

Can hardly wait smile

Went to the classic car show at the NEC last weekend, was having a chat with someone from the Allegro owners club. He was saying they are rare and collectable now, especially estates.

Just watching an old episode on Quest. Ed taking a Cerbera to bits - rather good stuff.

I had an estate when I was 19, as a stopgap car in the mid 80's. My 17 year old girlfriends father thought I must have been a decent lad to drive such a sensible car at my age. Little did he know what went on in the back of that surprisingly spacious car laugh

I just think Ed was genuine mechanic and interesting to watch, unlike the later fakers, (even though I agree ant can clearly do fabrication). Goblin works was utter ste but the chap with the stupid sideburns still managed to get onto ch5 fifth gear. None of goblin works deserve to have a career.

They have to be one of the worst cars ever made, it and BL sums up a lot wrong with the British motor industry.

Just awful to look at and complete crap in every respect.

So many classics from the 60's and 70's were terrible cars, many from BL in particular but plenty from other manufacturers too.

It used the A-series engine and there are plenty of people who will tell you that's not complete crap.

I miss Ed. If ibwas ever having trouble sleeping, I'd out on a recorded episode and be out like a light in five minutes. One of the most boring presenters ever for me.

Whilst the A series is not complete crap, it is also not the greatest engine in the world

I know that, but you said the Allegro was crap "in every respect".

The Vanden Plas 1500, with or without the Allegro moniker is still ste. Sticking some plush bits on a stbox does not make it not a stbox. It makes it a turd rolled in glitter. They even came in baby st brown.
