Interesting that the plan to replace the Strombergs with Webers turned out to be a non event. A very poor episode.
I've got a faint memory that it wasn't such a simple swap on the Lotus head - the head with intergrated manifold was specific to the Stromberg carb and therefore rather expensive to change.Edited by Smollet on Saturday 6th July 13:49
Maybe they discovered this mid-filming.
I agree about the massive sections being skipped. They found a good chunk of time to do a big thinly disguised adverts for that UK classic car parts place tho, plus the recaps after every ad break! I do like Ants bits though and always feel like I learn something. For me Mike is the weak link, he's just so annoying and I question what he genuinely brings to the show - not a lot IMHO.

This week is a lot more interesting. 1st of 2 parter re engineering a 65 Barracuda into a tribute Richard Petty drag car Always thought he was purely NASCAR but I’m sure Mike is right. A lot more fabrication and a lot more America centred. Not quite Fantomworks though.
Good they admitted the false start at the beginning. I'm sure Ant is getting a bit of help with this build though R1 Dave said:

He brings a face and shape a lot of Americans can relate to. Smollet said:

He was purely NASCAR, his drag racing thing only happened once or twice. Doesn't make nice reading either as to what happened when he crashed the car. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/the-year-richard-p...

I feel disappointed
So much work just completely glossed over.
Seems to be the way this series has gone.So much work just completely glossed over.
It’s almost like they got some feedback that the audience wanted ‘more Mike’ (Lords knows why) so they re-edited all the episodes, it often feels like you’ve nodded off and when you open your eyes again the car has gone from a rolling shell to a compete car.
Ed Warner is didn’t he ha ha
Either Mike and Ant are wasting their time with this programme, or I am.
It's me, isn't it.
I know Mike isn't a fan of criticism, and I suspect he's looked at PH in the past, but here it is:
With the change from Edd to Ant, you had an opportunity to move the show on. Sadly, you dropped it down the bog, and I have given up. Nice job.
