Weirdly I was talking to a sound engineer that worked on the show just the other day. He said it was amazing what was said when he was not on camera but still being picked up by the sound boom. Apparently it wasn’t being recorded but if it had been it would have been explosive to say the least.
That was helpful. wink

What was said?
Mike and Edd were having an affair?
Edd was smuggling drugs in the sills?
Mike was better at welding than Edd?0
Edd can't read?

What, man?!
So you’d like me to open myself up to legal action? Doofus is right laugh
With respect, you started it by posting something utterly meaningless.

If you’ve got any ability in reading between the lines and an imagination I’m sure most would get there.

I’ll PM you the details if you like as long as it’s not attributed to me

I don't really care, TBH smile

It was just the way you said "Somebody told me a secret and it's a big secret, but it's a secret, so I won't tell you what it is."

So why tell us at all? wink

Not quite Wheeler dealer related but definitely Mike Brewer related, I often watch the YouTube channel "Car Throttle" may have already been said, so apologies...but highly recommend that show, especially for "bangernomics and shed fodder"...

But, Mike Brewer has been making cameo apperances on that recently, as the lad who does the show instagrammed him, advising the lads on their £100 motors, he is quite good on that, and pretty funny - he does a good cheesy impression of Mike "HOLD OUT'YA HAND"....

I watch alot of reruns of Wheeler Dealers, actually watching one now on Quest, so dated!

But, I remember them fondly back in 2003 on the Discovery channel.

And always check the MOT history of the cars on the show (bit of a habit/hobby of mine, even when out and about nerd )

And they are always way past it! Makes you think what actually happens to these cars in the show.

All on YouTube now the best programmes these days, more honest and not set up...CarThrottle is good as I mentioned but there are loads, another one I like is HubNuts.

Anyway, I digress a little.

It did make me laugh when Mike was saying in the podcast that they have never used actors for the buyers, always genuine sales yet on many occasions cars are still for sale months after.

I'm sure they were actors, but then again, they were so wooden and cringe worthy looking over the cars at the end...

Being honest here I am not a fan of him at all but in the podcast he was quite funny in regards to PT cruisers and Crossfires

But Wheeler dealers has gone downhill these days and I still prefer Edd to Ant all day long.

Production crew members, they're no Robert De Niro.

plus Edd owned outright the UK location for the show (another big factor in Mike/Velocity wanting him out). Edd could have stalled production of the show by tying it up in legal knots when Velocity/Motor Trend breached his contract but instead he chose to walk away, IMO the better man for it but he obviously does not possess the killer business instinct of his erstwhile partner.
From the rumours I've heard locally regarding that location used for filming, in regards other uses, it sounds like Edd is certainly in possession of a killer business instinct.
This passed under the radar. Can you elaborate on the locations “other uses”?

Actors would require payment and possible repeat fees. Much easier to use prod staff or just say it was slow to sell but eventually they got £x for it.

Looking at the size of Mike lately he’s really getting into the American lifestyle!

Nope, I don't get it either. Dull and wooden. Don't doubt he is a good and interesting guy in reality, I just dont feel that came over on camera

Car throttle fan here too - only have the £100 MR2 from yesterday to watch.

Seen Brewer on it and yes he is good - that stint in US of A has pushed him way up the weight level I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have little change from very deep into the 20 stone + range.

Edd owned a service and MOT station business adjacent to the 'art deco' garage unit used for the filming.....and I've heard from my cousin who lived nearby and used the place for the MOT's for his cars for years that Edd wasn't exactly flavour of the month there towards the end of WD when he was out in USA. That maybe why he wasn't happy with the new USA base of the show......although he personally seems to have done OK out of the liquidation of that garage/MOT test business (which is still there) and the selling off of the old filming site next door for housing.....

Indeed.

And its the food portion size lifestyle, rather than the California outdoor fitness lifestyle direction he's gone down (which is probably the USA lifestyle that made Ant jump at taking the job)

Yeah I was quite surprised by his weight gain on Car Throttle, obviously living the American dream .
