I for one am glad this is Smith's last outing.
It isn't http://io9.com/matt-smith-confirms-hell-still-be-s...Weak Episode. It did advance the Clara story line and added a few more questions asw ell as answers. The "big bad" was weak however as was the response by the Doctor and Clara. The Sonic worked for me as the Guardians were using sound as a weapon. However they were wasted and overall the story felt like it was merely advancing Clara. Next week "Alien on a Submarine" looks like a better episode. Where was Clara in the "coming next" bit though?

With the headphones on - https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detai... then unconcious in the missile room with whatever the bad thing is about to launch one.Tonights episode was great I thought apart from the voice of the iceman
Nice to see David Warner in it I felt sure he has been in it before (?) I also thought the submarine commander seemed to be modelled on Sean Connery's Commander in Hunt For Red October
I don't over analyse Dr Who but I find some episodes better than others and this one I felt did it well

He did a voice for Dr Who Dreamland animated miniseries, but not appeared in the show before. I do think he would make a very good William Hartnell in the the biopic they are making instead of David Bradley though.daveydave7 said:

I think it was good in terms of pacing - didn't feel so much like a madcap rush everywhere. Nice to see David Warner in it I felt sure he has been in it before (?) I also thought the submarine commander seemed to be modelled on Sean Connery's Commander in Hunt For Red October

Thank youWhen I first saw him I confused him with the guy who played the Silurian leader in that one set underground a few years ago and who also voiced the computer log in dinasaurs on a spaceship
Is it just me, or have we returned to the Troughton era? I realise most won't remember it anyway, but the opening credits graphics are getting more like the old stuff (his face fleetingly appears again), the Doctor is wearing a bow tie and is certainly dressed like the Troughton doctor. Now if we could only get the theme tune back in track.
