Tonights episode was spoiled by Clara, who is she? There was plenty of old style Dr Who cliffhanger points, but, is the recurring theme spoiling individual episodes?
Spoiled in what way?
We all know(?) that 'who is Clara' is the underlying series storyline, I feel that some episodes are being spoilt as the writer has to somehow include this in the episode plot?

Yep.

I liked it. Thought the Spaceship graphic was poor but overall it was certainly better than last weeks offering.

A kick in the nuts would have been better than last weeks episode.

No, I didn't rate it very much. Watched it on iPlayer a silly o'clock this morning and was excited to find out the Ice Warriors were back but the whole episode was just a bit meh. I don't know what, but I feel they should have done so much more with this episode, I felt like they wasted the return of a good monster with an "awaken, grr, placate, happy silly end" story that could have used any one-shot creature. And the model shots were particularly dire.

Still, we got to see a moist Clara smile

The "Action" Doctor that existed up to the loss of Amy and Rory seems to have been replaced by a "Channelling" Version in the last two Episodes. Thankfully He returned in the "Bells of Saint John" so He is still there. He is less of a "Solution" to the problem and is working with others to work it out. The "Sonic" appears to have changed as well. It seems to be an "interface" allowing the Doctor to extend his senses.

I thought it was very poor, I repeatedly found my attention had wandered from the story onscreen. It was a triumph after last week's episode however, which was total st.

I think it has been simplified, towards a younger audience, as it should be really. Still quite fun though.

I really enjoyed last night until the last five minutes when it ended all too quickly and easily...

The Sonic Screwdriver has evolved over the last few years It went green ages ago after Matt Smiths overloaded - the new one was found in the restored Tardis's interior. Several episodes ago an explanation was given as to the sonics new ability to adopt the psychic thoughts projected at it

Still never mind we've got Clara to look at, every bit as hot as Pond but with much better legs.

I prefer her vowels too. Anyone notice those?

It may well do so but it's primary job now appears to be the same as "Star Trek" Sensors.

Much as i love Doctor Who and have since the early 70s, not enjoying this. Last few were rubbish.
Still i suppose it is made for our cousins from the US of A so effects more important than story.

Twice in a row i have now fallen asleep mid episode. Struggling to defend myself to the wife for watching kids TV these days frown

Well I really enjoyed this weeks episode.

For me.... It's Doctor Who, not the frikking Shawshank Redemption. Light entertainment.

I see complaining about the technicalities of DW and reading too much into it, is akin to complaining about the car bits on Top Gear being a bit staged.

Pointless. It's entertainment.

Listen to this man.

He's in touch with reality when it comes to a thousand year old alien with a time machine that looks like a box thing that no one has seen for fifty years & possesses an inexplicable ability to pull hot chicas with his magic screwdriver.

It tells the Doctor where or what something or someone is, what an object consists of etc. It leaves the Doctor to fill in the blanks but is not "fixing" as many problems.
