Dr Who… Awesome News If You're A Fan
Discussion
Haven't thought much of the stories so far to be honest but the way Capaldi is taking the character is interesting.
It seems like a lot of the playful side has been dropped and the character is a lot more callous. Or maybe just doesn't sugar coat things.
Also seems to me there is quite a lot of Tom Baker in the mix; at least I keep seeing that grin flashing up.

Saibra was a good character but I think she "cured" her superpower at the end?
However, he's a time traveller, and they all started this episode with a memory wipe. So they could have/had many adventures together, in his "future" (series-time-line-wise) and her "past" (before this episode).defblade said:

Clara was wearing the same clothes pre-memory wipe as she was on the heist. She never wears the same thing twice. She's female.Does anyone else struggle to hear what Capaldi is saying half the time? I find I have to really concentrate on his lip movements - not sure if it is because he (sometimes) talks fairly quietly, or it is his accent, or the background music is too loud - or a combination of all three........

No, but I notice that he pulls that same toothy horseface like Tennant used to do.pincher said:

I struggle hearing Doctor Who in general because the background music is too loud and complained about it on this thread some time ago I think. I did watch the last episode on another TV and it was much better, so I am thinking it could be my TV.pincher said:

"Capaldi kept his native Scottish accent for the role.[18][19][20][21] Speaking on his decision, he said he did it so he could feel closer to the character.[22] Capaldi's accent caused some viewers to struggle to understand him in the show, including some who required subtitles to understand what he was saying. As well as the difficulty understanding his accent, the delivery of his lines also made it harder to understand what he was saying, owing to the fact Capaldi delivered the lines in a very fast pace. Patricia Fletcher, a Manhattan-based voice, speech and dialect coach said "... the actor often speaks very quickly, with a staccato rhythm and without enough attention to articulating through to the end of his thought/line, this does promote a character choice of Doctor Who being sharp and quick-thinking, but does not help us understand what the Doctor is actually saying/thinking.” British Linguistics expert Professor David Crystal also felt that the accent and speed of delivery made it difficult for even British audiences to understand.[23][24]"Wikipedia entry: 6th paragraph down under section headed: Casting:

The Dr. used to be concerned with the "why" before resorting to "how can I get rid of". Time for his research funding to be withdrawn. And time for him to get a sense of wonder, instead of universe-weariness, again. He never had all the answers, just the ability to work them out.

Will somebody, please, please lock Danny and a Dalek in a room together. His acting, the way he talks, even his stupid face winds me up and is fast ruining this series. I really hope the writers arent trying to turn them into a Rory and Amy type of story line.
