Didn't a tiny swarm of flesh eating robots disguised as shadows kill his wife? The Vastha or something?
Did he just give rise to the species of her death?
Ooh interesting...Did he just give rise to the species of her death?
Incidentally, this series has been far better than the last thus far. Enjoying it.
Overall, 2 reasonably ok episodes to start with, though Matt Lucas has been underused, and I think the vault is going to be a rather large plot point soon

... I would have liked the one from The Inbetweeners with the glasses and briefcase to do it ...
Anybody from The Inbetweeners would be good. Especially Carli.Still not too keen on the writers re-using actors for new characters, both Karen Gillan and Mr Capaldi were in previous episodes

Since when was 1814 Edwardian?
Oh, and you might want to readdress your understanding of UK history if you don't believe there were Afro-Carribean people living in London in 1814 especially in the Docklands area.
Yeah you're right about the date, I'm sure I heard the word Edwardian, which made me use that term. Oh, and you might want to readdress your understanding of UK history if you don't believe there were Afro-Carribean people living in London in 1814 especially in the Docklands area.

And I'm entirely sure the docklands was ethnically mixed in 1814. Just not that ethnically mixed.
Saying that, Eastenders is amazingly white, given that the last non-hipster white person left the East End in about 2000. So that's balance of a kind, I guess.
Doesn't make this series of Doctor Who any better, mind.
Fantasy creatures and situations are fine because they are fantasy and anything goes but changing real things to accommodate them annoys me. The Thames isn't deep enough now to have that big fish under it let alone when it was an open sewer, and how did it get through the arches of London Bridge at the end? New London Bridge which wasn't completed until 1831 is shown but old London Bridge was still in use in 1814 right next to it with even narrower arches. There were no other bridges across the Thames at London in 1814. Next one along was at Richmond.

You might want to research "scientific racism" of the early 19th C.And I'm entirely sure the docklands was ethnically mixed in 1814. Just not that ethnically mixed.
