The show is called Dr Who not Dr Man, there are such things as female doctors and it's canon that timelords can change gender. Get over it.
Yes they've had since 1963 to tell us a Timelord CAN change sex, reminds us when they did tell us.(answer: The Doctor's Wife 2011)
It may well be canon but perhaps introduced to fit a luvvie narrative.
The Doctor is a male character and I wouldn't want to see that change.
Similarly, to pick another Time Lord, Romana is a female character and I wouldn't want to see that change either. It's nothing to do with sexism.
As for a black actor, well by all means bring it on if it's the right man for the job. Note, man. Not woman.
But I suspect it's going to be Kris Marshall.

Bottom line is - the Doctor (whoever plays the role) has a character that runs on from one actor to the next, a 'feel' that makes them The Doctor, not just an actor in a generic science fiction show.
So long as the producers auditioned people, and got a good idea of what each actor would bring to the role, I'd be happy with any gender, race or whatever. So long as they were a good Doctor. Missy was fantastic as the Master, fresh, funny and nicely unsettling.
If they decided the doctor must be a specific age, gender, hair colour before they started casting, it would be painful. The number of actors who'd be good for the role seems to be fairly small, so limiting your choice before even starting would be ridiculous.
I'm nervous of Chris Marshal or Richard Ayoade as the Doctor as they always seem to play 'themselves'. Whoever gets the role has to carry the show for five years (according to the producer's plan), so they've got to be The Doctor, not that guy/girl from that other show playing a role. As such, Capaldi has really been a great Doctor in my eyes, even if the scripts he was given were at times a little wobbly.

Being a committed Whovian and someone who has contributed greatly to the Who universe via my very popular fan fiction novels I shall say that if people of my calibre can accept a change to a woman then casual viewers should also.
One of the great things about the relaunch of Dr Who 12 years ago was that it embraced a policy of being available for all. It wasn't necessary for you to know the back story. In that view it came across as fresh. However since then people have become attached to it who think it should not change these people are as damaging to who as those that surrounded it around 1985
Personally I cannot see why the next Doctors companion cannot be a parrot either

Does your fan fiction have constant references to the sexual preferences of the characters by any chance? Why do you think the preferences of a self admitted Dr Who nerd would represent those of the general public?
