Great choice, really looking forward to seeing how it's played.

So every episode will be a feminist rant with all male characters being complete idiots.

The Doctor is meant to be a madman with a blue box. I'm going to struggle to watch this.

Yes but I've only ever seen her in Broadchurch. Anyway, should be interesting.

Don't know why I'm engaging in this because it's idiotic but why is it okay for the Master to be a woman (everyone agreed she was great) but it's not okay for the Doctor?

He's a two hearted alien, from a species with established race and gender changes, who regenerates her entire face and personality every few years.

But ARGH! PC! WORLDS GONE MAD! I can't cope!

Dry your eyes mate. It's a tv show for kids.

Don't have a clue who she is other than what I've read up on her the last five minutes, but that's fine, it's probably better to be someone not universally known already.

But what a load of pish the announcement was after all the buildup over the last week. Just a 20 second or so VT chucked in to the middle of the wimbledon rambling, as if someone at the BBC suddenly went "oh bugger, we were supposed to show this clip right after the match weren't we, quick better chuck it on now and hope my boss isn't watching".

Not the woman I was expecting (Phoebe Waller-Bridge or Olivia Colman), but it was always going to be a woman this time. Wait until Christmas now to see what happens (if anything) with Bill in the next series, or who will be in Bill's place.

I don't even watch it, but from what I've seen it's more than a kids show, it's production qualities are up there with Hollywood.

Not a Doctor Who fan - I've only watched like 4mins Doctor Who in my 39 years on earth. But Jesus the feminists have taken over the asylum by feminising another franchise. WTF?

That's whiny liberals for you, they can't stand the thought that not everyone wants LGBT and feminism to be central to their lives. wink

Agreed. Selina Gomez was great but glad that Jodie doesn't look to be going down the steampunk route.

She looks cool. Doctor Who should be cool.

I was excited for the Christmas episode, and now I'm excited for next year. I want to see what happens next biggrin

Fair enough. It's simply not on that a time traveller with an impossible police box from a dead planet & a magic screwdriver, who regenerates from one form to another somehow should, after fifty odd years become a woman. It's outrageous I tell you.

Unbelievable bunch of blubbering man babies. rofl
