An actual example of "The professionally offended.".
Well there's plenty to choose from, all this twaddle over the next doctor and telly almost filled with lbgt stuff.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40679...
Peter Davison, who played the Doctor from 1981 to 1984, said he "liked the idea" of a male Doctor and that he felt "a bit sad" the character might no longer be "a role model for boys".
His comments were promptly dubbed "rubbish" by his successor Colin Baker.
"You don't have to be of a gender to be a role model," said the actor, who portrayed the Doctor from 1984 to 1986.
Strange then the Doctor is now portrayed as a role model for girls with the announcement of the new Doctor.

She certainly a massive assets to gender equality. Asset. I meant asset.
Nope, even that has died a death. It says something when even 90's uber wk target Lara Croft has been dragged into the present without any objections or requirement for continued fan service that Dr Who's fan can't even cope with the mere thought of a woman playing the role.

Look on the bright side: she'll be paid less than Capaldi thanks to the gender pay gap at the BBC, so there will be more money for special effects and stuff.
Not now she won't, the BBC has confirmed that she will get what he was on - somewhere between 200-250k.Jader1973 said:
Playing The Doctor must be the only job where a relatively unknown actor can get paid the same as a well known multiple award winner because they are playing the same character. Interesting that acting experience doesn't factor in to it.
The new doc has a lot of experience across all three mediums of acting. Awards don't equal experience, even though she has been nominated. I think the Doc with the least experience was Matt thingy and he had around 7 years.Jader1973 said:

I'd imagine that acting experience factored into the ability to land the job at all. You don't know how many award winning or highly paid actors auditioned or were considered for the role. I'd guess the producers probably want the best they can get for the show..Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
