Very virtuously inclusive, and remaining so judging by the credits at the end. Suspect it’s going to be full-on “white men are all evil or useless”, but I suppose after fifty odd years of an old white dude saving the universe they can afford that.

I think she’ll be ok. She’s quirky enough. Style is different, more conventional TV drama. Writing is ok so far. If you can knock up a sonic in a backstreet garage, that’s a bit... disappointingly easy.

It's basically become "Coronation Street in Space"

She'd be more at home pulling a pint in the Rovers than battling interdimensional overlords

I enjoyed it, and this is my eleventh doctor. About half way through she was just the doctor in my mind looking forward to the rest of the series.
Sums it up for me.
Same here. I liked it and very quickly got used to the idea of her as the doctor.

You really shouldn't watch television if this sort of thing confuses you. Perhaps in the time between... he went back with some ladders?

Or aliens did it.

FFS do you need everything spoon fed to you?

Most 1st stories are disappointing
Casting my mind back
Peter Capaldi's truly awful with some enforced "right on" lecturing about not judging people- courtesy of a lizard woman
Matt Smiths - messy and very hyper - He nailed it for me in his 3rd episode
David Tennant - a Christmas one - not that good really - he nailed it by his 3rd proper story
Christopher Ecclestone - messy and enforced bit zany - but within 3 episodes fantastic

Further back

Sylvester McCoy falling off an exercise bike and OTT dialogue with the Ranni took a while but he calmed down and was quite likeable
Colin Baker - very loud tried to kill his companion - never liked his portrayal
Peter Davidson - not good but again few episodes later fine
Tom Baker - brash and loud and I think nailed it in his 3rd episode - think it was Robot ?
Don't remember any others 1st stories

I think they had a lot to do - introduce 3 new characters, introduce her
It was all a bit Yorkshire for me. At one point I half expected a brass band to pop up

Just give it a bit of time I guess

Ay up lads, I thought it were reet good. Considering what utter donkey poop some of the episodes from the previous series were, it was brilliant. I think I spotted a couple of white faces in it too.

(Slightly off-topic: There was a Karl, a Dennis, and very nearly a Brian. Reckon one of the scriptwriters might be a closet Beach Boys fan?)

Blimey.

I was going to come on here to slag it off, call it the biggest turd ever but to be honest I was quite hooked and enjoyed it. Maybe it was the storyline and after a few weeks she will annoy the hell out of me but willing to give it a go.

Will say I hated Matt Smith but slowly warmed to him. Peter thingy not so much and didn't like his Doctor from beginning to end,

I was really really unsure of a female Dr but I very quickly took to her, enough Dr mannerisms to know who she was still.

Story was fine, baddy was actually quite grim and personally I have no issue with the all inclusiveness aspect.

I don't over analyse shows like this, just enjoy them for what they are. Still deciding if my 8yr old son would be ok with it.

HE SHOULD NOT BE, unless it is with the assistance of a sofa cushion. That is the test,

You may need to pay for therapy in his early teens.

You need to get him a pair of peril sensitive sun glasses then!

Interesting that it seems to have moved from a Cardiff centred programme to a Sheffield centred one. (No idea where it was actually filmed).

Perhaps with a Yorkshire born star they decided to Yorkshire up the whole programme.

I was trying to figure out the Tim Shaw alien link (Tim Shaw Car SOS). Google tells me he was born in Sheffield so perhaps that’s the link.

Well it has previously been voted the city of diversity (or some such twaddle)

"Tim Shaw is a big blue cheat!"

So hands up if you thought she said "big blue st"?!? hehe

I liked it, usual first episode introduction and manic still regenerating doctor. She's a bit Tennanty so far, which is fine by me.
