My wife is watching it at the moment on the PC next to me.

Is it me or are modern day doctors speaking too much and too quickly?

In the old days Tom Baker would do the whole episode with just 4 words

"Fancy a Jelly Baby?"

It must be reassuring to the doctor and her mates that all the space people have Sheffield accents too.

Really enjoyed that. First time I’ve felt back into who since early Matt Smith Days.

Another average episode. I really do think the script writing is the weak point.

That one worked for me. Hints of deeper stuff going on too, which Chibnal said he wouldn't be doing... hmmmm...

Really enjoyed it. Effects were pretty good, visuals worked all round, adventure interesting and not entirely obvious. Yes, that works. smile

As soon as Art Malik mentioned the Ghost Monument, I said to Mrs D, "So that's the Tardis then."

I really don't like Dr Who. I think it's childish and badly written; has been for years. I dedicded to try this series with an open mind, because my wife loves Dr Who.

She's already tiring of JW's ceaseless wittering, and I'm just totally unmoved by the whole thing.

Quite enjoyed the first one, but this second ep was rubbish. Failed to keep my attention throughout.

I also seem to remember them saying that the sonic wouldn’t be used as much this series. Well that’s clearly nonsense as it’s been used about 10 times so far as a ‘do anything plot tool’.

Episode 3 - Doctor meets Rosa Parks.

Episode 4 - Doctor meets sentient gammon.

She’s just The Doctor. That’s actually quicker than usual for me. I can’t work out whether the echoes of Tennant are acting or just how she is.

Too much coincidence for me. Last week we had the train stopping right near where Ryan had lost his bike, followed by the Doctor falling through the roof. Then this week we had two spaceships, one landing one crash landing, right next to each other, within walking distance of where the TARDIS had ended up.

JW does have a few good lines though.

It was ok but lacked any depth.

Dr Who used to have an assistant but mow has an entourage.

It's still early days, let's hope it improves.

I believe 'posse' is the current popular term.

It's shown on a Sunday evening before Strictly. What did you think it was going to be?

I agree, too many companions at the mo. She needs to lose at least one.

I'd like to see just the Doc and Graham, exchanging banter. But can you imagine how up in arms the PC-wallahs would be if that happened?
