Using the word 'them' to refer to actors and actresses collectively; they are different to me because I can't act. wink
In which case, you're one of those. It's you that different to them us one of us, but not me in this instance, not them us one of us, but not me in this instance that's different to you.

It's a bloody minefield!

And is it different to or different from?

Wouldn't have worked, she'd have just knocked up a new one from yogurt cartons and sticky-backed plastic.

(P.S. It's different to. I think.)

Another good episode, although I thought the resolution was a little weak. My teenager daughter has started watching again, after ignoring the Capaldi episodes.

Only the last 2 episodes I have been able to watch all the way, and Sunday's was better than the week before.

Let us see what the next few are like.

Not one of their finest works, but on the money as usual.

No, it's been much, much worse.

The latest epidose was the only decent one in the entire series. Except they had the chance to lose at least one of the superfluous companions, and didn't take it.

Somebody with better lugholes than me needs to confirm if that was Davros's voice in the 'next time' clip.

They wouldn't re-use the same character again, he's only been used about 37 times in the last ten years.
Not at all convinced its Davros but some of the more informed level 4 posters are theorising that it may be Captain Jack Harness.
The idea gripping the board is that in the final few minutes we see a broken and psychologically damaged Captain Jack who is full of self loathing for his past actions.
This will leads onto a sympathetic and heart warming story on New Years Day that will show the Doctor reminding Jack of the good things he has done. The subject of Jacks sexuality will be referred to and it will be proven to him that being bisexual is nothing to be ashamed of

So we're almost at the point where Bradley Walsh gets more viewers for The Chase on weekday afternoons?

4.9m last week (helped by I'm a Celeb)

3.5m usually

Well done BBC

Hopefully they will retire it after the New Year "special" for a few years until the BBC can actually find some decent writers, directors and actors in the amazingly deep talent pool you'd have thought they have available to them, I'd hate to see the current lot spend another year at it now and manage to totally hammer it into an ante-world the show can never find a portal back from.

Imho anything less than 7m should be considered a disaster given that it's the series finale and it's on Sunday evening with zero competition from terrestrial TV:

BBC2: Britain's Biggest Warship
ITV: News
CH4: Home Alone

I wonder how it would've fared if it had been on this Saturday against Star Wars: Ep IV on ITV.

With no series long story arc to conclude, what is there to draw people in to the final episode? I reckon 4.65m for this Sunday in the UK and 0.75m for the US.

It's a big earner from overseas rights so I'm sure the BBC will keep it going on life support if they can, after all they've had much practice at doing just that. Last of the Summer Doctor anyone?

The 2019 series is I think in production now, so written and being made, too late to introduce fixes from lessons learnt (or stubbonly ignored).

Whatever this series is or is trying to be, it is not Doctor Who as we know it. More akin to the adventures of Sarah Jane. I was prepared to give the new format a chance and accept a female doctor but the writing in this series is weak and the acting absolutely terrible. It does not bode well for the future and would be a terrible injustice if this resulted in the end of Doctor Who.

It won't be a big earner if they continue to pump out garbage!

I'm a huge Dr Who fan, love the books, collect the series etc. Tom Baker is my favourite. I've watched maybe 4 episodes of the new one...don't mind the new DR, always an adjustment. But the writing topics and other characters are terrible. It feels like it is trying to preach all the time, either that or it feels like a kids version.

I have virtually no interest in watching the rest of the series unless nothing else is on. Which is a real shame. DR Who should be dark, questionable ethics, scare element. It used to terrify me as a kid - my grans house had a tiny square room just for a toilet (posh I know) and it always made me jumpy pulling the chain to flush as the noise/shape reminded me of the tardis and I was scared I'd open the door to find another planet/alien/dalek/Billy Piper.

The re-runs on Drama on Saturday night make interesting comparison.
In the stories shown so far theres been darkness, sadness and fun
Subjects touched upon include ageing, loss, Mickeys development from a whimpy type to an assured guy
And its all been subtly worked in to the stories with absolutely no preaching
