I think the Rotten Tomatoes score is being bumped down by what amounts to an alt-right attack of some sort.
Whilst the series was flawed, there's no way it's that bad and no way it's hated as much as that score suggests.
Your not the only one. The Level four fan fiction writers board is going with the same view. A lot of thought is that this is being orchestrated on social media by UKIP members trying to take back what they see as a British icon.Whilst the series was flawed, there's no way it's that bad and no way it's hated as much as that score suggests.

Which of course is ludicrous, it's still the same British icon it always was.zarjaz1991 said:

An alt-right attack?
Jesus fking wept.
There's a lot of discussion on this on other sites, notably the largest Doctor Who forum, Gallifrey Base. I'm not just coming out with nonsense (unusually). An alt-right attack?
Jesus fking wept.
It started to fall out of favour when it became full of left of centre types projecting political stances to the show it didn't warrant
Just to clarify, my comment was not about the 'audience' score being suspiciously low
(which it unquestionably is), but the equally dubious critic rating of 94% compared to
something like The Shawshank Redemption which can 'only' muster 91%
...perhaps the critics have been hijacked by the loony left?

A lot of the one star reviews have no comments, many of the others dislike it for its politics/SJW/anti-capitalism/anti-straight white men. It's odd that the number of reviews for the current series far outweighs those for previous seasons, almost like people have gone out of their way to downvote it. Whilst the series was flawed, there's no way it's that bad and no way it's hated as much as that score suggests.
I hope the BBC ignores these reviews and allows Chibnell to continue, as the last/current series has been the most enjoyable who I've seen for quite a while.

Scary thought that a children's programme might be targeted in an organised fashion because it dares to be inclusive.I hope the BBC ignores these reviews and allows Chibnell to continue, as the last/current series has been the most enjoyable who I've seen for quite a while.
As for the idiots revelling in the low score, are you part of the problem? The score does not seem to be reflected in the viewing figures which are up on the previous series and holding up pretty well through the run. Sinister and a little depressing.

Of course the show will appeal to many, but overall it doesn't feel like Doctor Who, and I feel sorry for lads like my son, who was the shows number 1 fan and doesn't get what is happening.
Doctor Who was already choc full of strong female characters, didn't need to lose a decent male role model from the TV, we don't have enough of them for young lads.

Series 10: Broadcast summer time on Saturday evenings when many are out and not watching TVversus
Series 11: Broadcast winter time on Sunday evenings when many default to the TV because there's not much else going on
Series 11 has had a massive ratings advantage from the get go and yet still managed to shed a large percentage of its episode 1 audience.

For me chibnell and the BBC have destroyed the series. Yes it appeals to a new audience but they’ve alienated far more old fans in my opinion.

We've started watching the Christopher Ecclescake series, it's a revelation compared to this current one and the last Peter Capaldi series.
Off topic,Last Friday I saw him play Macbeth with the RSC at the Barbican. The whole cast were outstanding and he was a revelation.
An outstanding production.
