Craig Ferguson would make an excellent Doctor.

Think he has a place here...
I agree about Craig Ferguson.

However, he's good friends with Peter Capaldi (they were in a band together...), so I suspect he will have been warned off...

He's friends with Matt Smith & Karen Gillan too.

He had probably the best ever 'talk' show on American Tv and is just a force of nature.

I think you're probably right about Capaldi's warning.

Don't forget that Hugh Grant is twenty-odd years older than when he did the Comic Relief episode.

Grant has denied any knowledge of being offered the part.

"Nothing against Dr W but I’m not. [in talks to take over from Whittaker] No idea where the story came from."

Not sure why some of you think the new Doctor is going to be played by a straight white man.

Weird silly

By the end of the third episode he had truly nailed it

and to prove people will bet on anything... I'll just leave this here...let the frothing commence wink

Bookmaker Coral recently stated: "Danny Dyer is leaving Eastenders to look for new challenges and many punters believe one of his first new roles will come in Doctor Who as the Time Lord.

"Dyer has been well backed in our betting and he is the clear favourite now ahead of Lydia West and Olly Alexander."

It'll never sell abroad, if we can't understand him here they won't stand a chance.

Enough about Sheffield, 'Ull and Scouse, what about Dyer*?

  • I assumed abroad they may use other voice over actors or subtitles like we do here? wink

"Dalek, orright, naah whoam I yer or dontya know!"

In the USA he'll have to be dubbed by Samuel L Jackson for the right effect.

"Dalek, say my name, say my name motherfker, say it!"

Watching that does not dispel my fear that this will be bilge. Shame, I quite like the Sea Devils.

If only Sam L could be persuaded to be The Doctor!

Chibnall has admitted he expects Davies to "ignore" his own changes to Doctor Who when he takes over.

Please let it be so

An interesting article which begs the question,

Does he actually understand anything about Doctor Who or what he's been writing about for the last few years?

I think there is a bit of a readjustment taking place. They are all being very jolly and polite about it but I think they are going to jettison whole junks of this guys stuff. They will pop on a united front but I suspect that Mr Davies is a bit surprised at how things have gone and has stepped in to try and stop the rot.
I read a couple of other articles in which Chibnall states he is done with it all.
I think he comes across quite badly in those articles myself

I think tonights episode is one of the best if not the very greatest episodes of Doctor Who ever.
Jodie is in her prime as she waffles on ten to the dozen.

I assume this was filmed just before christmas time.
John Bishop is a great comedian and the fact he is wearing the outfit from whatever pantomine he appeared in last Christmas is truly inspired.
There is a word for such television as this I am struggling to find it
