Why were Jodie and Yaz giving it all "Boo hoo, I'll miss you" when neither of them were actually going anywhere?

When the Dr regenerates, it's not a new dr, just a new body. Plus Ace and Tegan recognised Jodie as the Dr, so Yaz would still know who the Dr is after regeneration.

And how come all the previous drs have got old?

Because Yaz was in love with her. Even though the Doctor had explained why she couldnt love her back.
Yazz was perhaps thinking of her own feelings a bit LIke Rose did. They could only focus on the now and not the future. To both of them it seemed like an ending. In reality the only way is up.

And onwards

There were a number of glaring faults in the first 5 minutes and plenty more along the way, but who cares?

For once you didn't need to have an encyclopedic knowledge of every Dr Who episode to make sense of the plot and an hour in, I was surprised there was only 30 minutes left.

Most of the last 5 series I've felt there was an hour gone 5 minutes in!

For once, a Dr Who episode I could actually enjoy!

It's not just a new body.

Even if I change, it feels like dying. Everything I am dies. Some new man goes sauntering away...and I'm dead.

The new assistant was disappointed that it wasn't bigger on the inside just that the two people were in fact very small. Further disappointment after their first trip, as the new assistant immediately handed in their notice due to the stench of piss after a Friday night "out out" and the crushing realisation that they meant a "Tyne" machine not a "Time" machine; an easy mistake to make with their accent and speed of speech...

I'm feeling old watching BBC News now - they've just said David Tennant became Doctor Who 17 years ago!

I wish Jo Martin would take the role full time.

I weonder if this "new" David Tennant Doctor is actually some thing to do with the arm growth Doctor that stayed with Rose in the Parallel Universe ?
Anything is possible with Dr Who (especially in the Chibnall era where he thought science fiction meant freedom to be utterly stupid), but I am pretty sure it was established that that version of "The Doctor" turned out to be not a Time Lord and therefor not able to regenerate.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did anybody else notice that this time not only did the Doctor's anatomy regenerate but so too did his clothes.

That's a first I think as the newly regenerated doctors usually have to go and get new clothes from the Tardis changing room.

Where was Tom Baker at the edge of everything?
And could they not have got some more recent companions, or are they saving Rose, Donna, & Clara for the specials?
She was wearing the big scarf when she came back wearing all the clothes of previous doctors mixed up. I wasn't expecting Christopher Ecclestone to turn up at the edge, but I thought Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi might have done a bit.

Tennant's second 'What?' was directed at his clothes, so it seems a story point will be made of it by Russell T Davies.

Not the first time we have seen it happen though- Hartnell-Trougton saw a complete change of clothes and Baker-Davison saw a change of footwear!

Hartnell > Troughton did it too

I reckon they could pull off the clearly bonkers Master wearing women’s clothes, but Tennent’s appearance may have lost some of its impact if he had done so. I’m not saying they won’t get round it by making it a story point as suggested above, but I bet that’s the root of it.

It could just be Chibnall and RTD trying to tie up that Hartnell -> Troughton change of clothes loose end after all these years. Chibnall's "Timeless Child" bks was an attempt to make the Morbius Doctors canon.
