Agent Coulson returns!
Discussion
Looks like the perfect time to end the series, or at least for me to stop watching it.
The last season started off well, but quickly took a turn for the overly dramatic. I thought we'd finally see some character development, instead we just got another supersized portion of 'gotta save the universe'. By this point May's lack of sentiment, Mac's internal struggles and Lincoln's soap opera facial expression have really become ridiculous. The fact Ward started dressing up and acting like Neo from The Matrix didn't help. Finally, when they brought out these failed experiment inhumans, it just took me twenty years back to when the original Power Rangers were fighting Putty Patrollers. Remember those guys?
Several times this season I asked myself "what's the point? why would all these people stay on board instead of quitting their jobs and going off to live a normal life?". Apparently Lincoln also asked himself that, just before setting off on a suicide mission.
Anyway, glad it's over, and I doubt I'll be watching the next season if and when it comes out. With all its good qualities and self-deprecating fun, it's become repetitive and predictable. Time to close up shop I think.

Just finished watching the season finale. I'm generally not that invested in the characters, and agree that AoS is the ginger step child of the MCU. However it does have it's moments, and this was one of them.
If they cancel the series, I won't shed any tears, but will probably stick with it if it continues.
For those who know SHIELD from the comics, did anyone notice "L.M.D." on the computer screen just before we saw the silhouette of John Hannah's creation?

well I just enjoyed the last 2 epis - no, it's not as good as Arrow and nowhere near Daredevil, but it is as good as Flash and better than Legends (all of which I enjoy). I thought that E22, whilst not being a surprise that someone died was a good epi and quite emotional. Sign me up for S4

This does me swede in, it really does. It's pretty simple really.
If you haven't watched the latest episode, don't go on the thread that discusses it. How long would you like us to wait, 48hrs? A week? A year? But Jonny Two Trousers in Ulaan Batur hadn't had internet for a month and hasn't been able to download it yet! So don't go on the thread.
Er, if Jonny doesn't have internet to download the episode, how does he have internet to read the thread? If you haven't watched the latest episode, don't go on the thread that discusses it. What does LMD mean?If they cancel the series, I won't shed any tears, but will probably stick with it if it continues.

It's an acronym for robots used to impersonate people. "Life Model Decoy." Nick Fury used to use them to throw bad guys off his trail. If the writers make a good job of it there could be all sorts of espionage shenanigans in the next series.
It may or may not be a spoiler for next season.
Comiccon- announcement of a new character in season 4 http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/tv/marvels-agents-of-s... Ghost Rider, but the comic version, not the Nic Cage movie version

Interesting, must mean that Marvel own the rights now.But if he's in the AoS show...a lil watered down? Ghost Rider is more of an edgier, grittier character more suited to Netflix, a la Daredevil.

Now they're adding in magical stuff too?

I'm not aware of the GR comic version, but if it's anything like the film one isn't that a it odd? They have a good thing going with the Inhumans, the hints at the AI stuff, it's all science and genetics (albeit alien) based.

I'm not wholly sure. Magic is just advanced tech in my eyes. I never read the original GR. When they made the Ultimates universe they tried to move away from traditional views of magic. But I mean, Doc STrange is coming out soon. Now they're adding in magical stuff too?
In my own head, this magic stuff is basically quantum, and a way to tap into energy and stuff from other dimensions, that is covered in Marvel with creature like Mephisto, who try and gave it that they are 'demons'.
It is my own theory, and sort of stuff like is covered in Illium by Dan Simmons.

I get what you are saying but isn't magic just stuff that science can't explain yet? Now they're adding in magical stuff too?

I see what you're trying to say, but is a guy catching fire at will any different from a guy melting metal or a woman who doesn't obey the laws of physics? Now they're adding in magical stuff too?

I've also been wondering how Marvel are going to address the issue of magic. Fairly early on they explained away Asgardian magic as advanced science. But with Dr Strange comming soon, there's no getting around the fact that, well, it's magic. Ghost Rider falls into the same category.
It'll be interesting to see what they do.
