Just finished watching all of Homeland, right from the very start, for the first time. Yes....I'm rather late to the scene on this one hehe

Never fancied it, but if you've not watched it, get on it! It really is a brilliant series.

Rupert Friends portrayal of Quinn is a stand out performance, quite brilliant and one of the most compelling pieces of acting I've seen.

A big thumbup from me!
I just finished these too, in readiness to watch Season 7 that’s just started on channel 4 - Found the last few seasons a bit slow and difficult to get into, but after a few episodes they’d get going and i’d be hooked. Agree about Quinn, great character - just a shame Morena Baccarin was only in the first couple of seasons cloud9

Do you mean Young Offenders? If so, totally agree.
Yes, sorry, Young Offenders.
They’ve made this into a series too, it’s on iPlayer at the moment - it’s up to about episode 5 so far - all episodes are available to watch on there

LA92 - Excellent documentary on the Rodney King trial and the riots that followed - Some of the footage was absolutely brutal, particularly at the crossroads where the riot started.

Tried watching The Witch earlier, god that was hard work, gave it about half an hour and decided I had better things to do. Found the dialogue really hard to follow, even with subtitles on. Guess I’m not cut out for ye olde English

Not sure if its been mentioned on here before: Time -The Kalief Browder Story

Been meaning to watch it for ages, and was reminded when watching the David Letterman Interviews with Jay Z the other night (another good series on Netflix by the way).

An unbelievable account of 16 year old Kalief being wrongfully arrested under suspicion of stealing someone's backpack in the The Bronx and being sent to Rikers Island jail for 3 years without trial, most of it spent in solitary. Am 3 episodes in so far, and am glued to the screen. Poor kid was dealt with so unfairly by the law system and has been quite a hard watch at times. Jeeeesus that Rikers Island jail is brutal.

Mentioned this a few pages ago when I started watching it, but tonight I finished ‘Time: The Kalief Browder Story’

Wow, what a harrowing story, and a really tough watch at times, especially the last few episodes. So sad and got a little dusty in my living room at times, but an incredible documentary series about a 16 year old kid from the Bronx being wrongfully arrested for stealing a backpack and being thrown into Rikers Island jail in NYC for 3 years without trial, spending most of it in solitary, and ultimately committing suicide due to the mental issues it caused

Did wonder, but it’s hardly a spoiler as it’s been in the public domain for a few years now, and isn’t how the series ends

Okay okay, spoiler tags added. Now if Lazermilk could just edit his post to remove it then all is good again....

So in the meantime, if anyone wants to watch it, don't watch the David Letterman Interviews series with Jay Z first, as he is the one that got me onto it and gave the exact same spoiler smile

Saw a good thriller last night called 'Prisoners' with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhall. Never heard of it before, but was really good.

2 little girls go missing and one of the fathers (Jackman) takes things into his own hands to get them back, whilst Gyllenhall is the cop trying to catch the kidnapper. Worth a watch

Started Rain last night - Danish thriller similar in premise to 28 Days Later - 2 teens join a group of survivors of a water-borne viral epidemic after spending years in an underground bunker.

2 episodes in and so far we've enjoyed it, I want to throttle Rasmus though....
I got to episode 5 last night (best episode I’ve seen so far) - can’t say I’m hooked, but will definitely watch the rest

Just finished it, it was all a bit meh. I normally like this kind of series, but it was all a bit predictable and no likeable characters to get invested in. Shame, as I thought it sounded quite promising...

Just watched Cargo.

VV good. Martin Freeman is excellent and by not going all out gore it cranks up the tension. If you've got young kids you may find this a hard watch!
I watched this last night, a good alternative take on the zombie genre, with more of a moralistic viewpoint than all out blood and guts. I enjoyed it.

White Gold - Good comedy series starring Jay and Simon from The Inbetweeners, based on a double glazing showroom in 1983 and the scams they get up to - really funny in places, and a great soundtrack

Calibre
Couple of city boys go on a hunting weekend in Scotland, tragedy strikes, and they have to stay there for the rest of the weekend dealing with their own morals and some rather unnerving locals. Pretty good film, quite tense in places and gets you thinking how easily things can go so wrong 7/10

The Boy

Creepy little fker.

Watchable horror flick about a nanny (Maggie from The Walking Dead cloud9) going to look after a kid for an eccentric old couple, but it turns out to be a life-sized doll with a strict list of instructions on how to look after him, strange things start to happen when the couple go away and the list is neglected....Better than it sounds, if a little predictable

I see Mississippi Burning has been added - watched this loads of times over the years - A couple of FBI agents (Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe) go to Mississippi to investigate the killing of some civil rights activists, and get into trouble with the KKK and racist local law enforcement. Imagine most have seen this, but it's a very powerful film and well worth watching...

The Haunting of Hill House
Gets a 9/10 rating on IMDB, watched the first episode and was wondering when it might get going, until that last scene - oh my god, was not expecting that! Will definitely be watching episode 2....
