Netflix - What gems have you found?

Not sure if it's been mentioned (sadly not going to sift back through 70 pages )
Hot girls wanted
Documentary about 5-6 amateur girls going to do Porn.

Inevitably, all are a bit naïve. Some end up hating it and quit. Some hate it but keep doing it for the money.
Telling thing is the guys in the film agent/manager/advisor/fellow male stars etc are completely upfront. You get a year tops, in this job before you're out of fashion and you'll be doing more unusual stuff (nothing illegal) or have no work.
Far from shocking me, I actually didn't feel sorry for the girls. None of them are actually exploited, none appear to be funding drug habits. They are all choosing to do it. And for them to continue to do it when they hate it is silly. But they wont take the choice to go back to regular hours and regular pay not to do it. They love the half decent money it brings in
From what the female film maker shows there's no abuse. There's a scene a girl 20ish does with an older guy maybe 45ish. He's normal, and is understanding that its awkward for her. But afterwards she says it was awful. I looked up the scene on the relevant website to see what was so bad and honestly it's such a nothing scene. (guy seduces younger girl, oral both ways, shag then "deposits" on her. We've seen it a million times before. Hell some of us do that with our actual girlfriends!) But I guess it goes back to their naivity that actually you will have to shag someone who you don't persoanlly find attractive.
Relatively kind on the industry. Which was surrpsing. I expected it to say all the film makers are wkers. Corrupt, And the girls are forced to do drugs and things they don't want. That's the sort of film the BBC would make about porn

Just watched first 2 episodes of Designated Survivor. Interesting premise and enjoyed what I've seen so far. Looking forward to more episodes.
I liked that too. Also, discovered today, The Race for the White House - a series of 45 minute stories about election campaigns. Not bad.
Black Mirror. God knows how I missed this on Ch 4. Great stuff.

Just watched the last episode of ten seasons of Trailer Park Boys and cried my eyes out. The weird thing is the song that plays out at the end is the tune I want played at my funeral (chosen around thirty years ago). Got to be one of my favourite series now. (Along with Six Feet Under - another end scene song on my funeral playlist).
TPB is Just superb. Great characters and acting, just hilarious. Easy viewing with the 25 minute episodes too.
I'm yet to watch any of the films, live on stage shows, etc. Might leave that a while.
Glad I found this. Even if I was a late starter.

Started Luke Cage and watched around 6 episodes in a few days.
It's good but nothing on Jessica Jones or Daredevil. The fight scene when he rolls in with car door was laughable. People falling over each other and arms flailing. I was hoping to see him run at a few of them and knock through a few walls. Good story though, enjoying it.

The Amanda Knox documentary is good if you're into that sort of programme.
7/10.
Agreed. Watch it and 7/10.
A) Be astounded that people still believe in/the hypocrisy of religion and how people let it influence their professional lives,
B) How/why Princess Diana died and the culture surrounding it,
C) Just how hideous the DM and its reporters are and how ignorant people who get their opinions from the DM must be
D) The misogyny driving the the whole circus - fat white male 40/50 something camera crews, paparazzi and reporters ogling over an attractive 20 something female. Quite unbelievable given that the trial was only 6 years ago remember... Thankfully it now looks like something out of the dark ages.
Can you actually believe that the police purposefully went into her cell, faked blood tests and then told her that she had AIDS in an attempt to destabilise her?! Then convicted her?!
I'm capable of realising that it was a one sided documentary (obvious lack of make up and frumpy clothes in an attempt to counter the image of her portrayed by the media for example), but as a snapshot on the attitudes of the media of the not too distant past, it is very interesting/scary. As I say it's like the dark ages; akin to watching a documentary on 1970's attitude to policing and ethnic minorities.
