Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father.
Jack Whitehall travels to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam with his dad.
I'm not a particular Jack Whitehall fan, however I really enjoyed this and even though it was a bit silly and humorous, it was interesting to me as we are thinking of visiting Cambodia and Vietnam next year.
In 4k the scenery is stunning.

I'm up to episode 4 on this an I love it... I admit I'm do like the slow burn stuff but I can see why a lot will find it boring...
I don't need loads of action if the material is good (IMO).
I've watched it all and agree with you on Mindhunter.I don't need loads of action if the material is good (IMO).
1st episode was slow.
So was the 2nd
Then I found that I liked the fact that it was slow, and settled into all of it.
I'm reminded by the interview with Denis Villeneuve about BR 2049.
ALOT of films these days have an editing style of bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam (and he was clapping his hands quickly to illustrate)
2049 (and Mindhunter IMO) follows an older style of bam............bam...........bam.........
I enjoy the having both styles.
The TV series This Life was another style I like, filmed literally on a hand held, camera moving quickly from character to character...fast moving. Great stuff.
Of course none of the styles work without good material and subject matter.

The Good Place is much better than I thought it would be after the 1st episode... I've watched all of them up to the most recent release now.
There's a scene in S1E6 where Chidi says to Eleanor something like "...and you constantly mocking me." And then she repeats it in a mocking voice.
I don't know why, but I laughed out loud and chuckled for ages at that. It was the way Kristen Bell said it. She really is wonderful in this.

She is great in it.... but that kind of 'lol' stuff is countered by her street chat...which I don't think really suits her...'yo dawg'And then she repeats it in a mocking voice.

and Jamilla Jamil's massively OTT posh Brit stuff... a decent normal British accenbt would've done... but whatever.... the ground hog day and good/bad place flip really helped it change gear for me, and moved it away from "Friends" or "Big Bang Theory"

Watched Wheelman last night, I enjoyed it but I suspect it will be an acquired taste. Not quite as interesting as Locke (in my opinion) but still worth a watch.
agreed - a tight little film (apparently made for peanuts, well £5m - which in modern film parlence is peanuts) and very enjoyableHTP99 said:

We're into S2 now, and (proper spoiler here, don't click if you aren't into S2) Chidi's Bad Place Soul Mate is bloody lovely as well.

I find The Good Place so hard to describe to people and I'm still reluctant to recommend it to people because I don't really know why I like it so much but I've genuinely never been to keen to keep watching something.
Even if it's not a constant lol-fest, there's always something amusing in every episode that tickles me for ages e.g. Tragic Mike and Michael's explanation re. negative points, stealing bread and the French

Myself and many others would disagree completely. Episodes is brilliant! It does have its own thread in here somewhere but there hasn't been a series of it for a while so it may be lost a way back. Skipping episodes of Episodes doesn't work as there is an overall story arc rather than just the self-contained story of each 30 minutes that you would get in most sitcoms
