You do realise I'm going to have to watch that now, and if it's as bad as you say I'm holding you responsible!
I’m intrigued as to your feedback.

Hacksaw Ridge is worth a watch if you haven't seen it - 'Saving Private Ryan' style battle scenes and an engaging story.

Wheelman - not so much. OK for some brain out entertainment I suppose but it felt like the writers had run out of ideas by halfway.

Shot in the dark; highly-stylised documentary following freelance video guys in LA who shoot emergency situations/accidents to sell to local news. If you liked the film Nightcrawler from a few years ago you will love this - it feels like a genuine extension to the film.

ETA it looks stunning in 4K!

I’ve watched the series and really enjoyed it. Interesting characters and events.

Absolutely worth watching.

Funnily enough my partner and I were having a slob on the sofa day yesterday and watched the whole series. I wondered how they were going to get around the repetitive nature of the work, but they did fantastically well to build up the characters of those involved and by the end we were very interested in series 2 (whenever it's out).

Finally got round to watching Dallas buyers club. Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it, a hiv postive man tries to circumvent the FDA by smuggling drugs that will help prolong his life. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto’s performance are outstanding.

just watched Cuba and the Cameraman... very good documentary about err.. Cuba, Castro and its people over the years!
really interesting film.
The three old brother were just incredible so humble and expected nothing from life other than hard work and family and they were Happy as pigs in st.
I also thought Castro came across as a really personable guy with the film maker and not the monster we had been told he was. The fall of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet empire was devastating for Cuba . The people also came across really well so friendly and willing to share even though they had little to share with.

I started it, but didn’t get far. I could not get past the sense of self importance the ‘news’ reporters had, screaming around the city like maniacs to catch ‘news’. Stopping on the freeway to film a car chase drive by??

It was almost like they felt they were a vital part of the cities security or emergency services, reporting the smallest incident like it was life or death importance to the public.

I’m currently watching Godless, series about small town, death and destruction in the Wild West. Well worth a watch.

I’m currently watching Lawless, series about small town, death and destruction in the Wild West. Well worth a watch.
Ended up watching the whole thing last night; I do agree they seemed to have convinced themselves that what they were doing was as important as the emergency services, but it was still an interesting watch, and it did look beautiful. Hated Zak with a passion; just something about him that really irritated me about his smug, wanna-be cop (notice how he was driving a Crown Vic with pseudo cop lights on it) face. Looking forward to S2.

We're watching this at the moment. Got to say I think it's one of the best things we've seen in a long time. Set in the 70's really atmospheric with loads of old American period cars.

Weiner.

Interesting documentary about an awful bloke with an absolutely cast-iron, copper-bottomed self-confidence, and zero shame.

I quite liked him.
I saw this a while ago... haha... what an odd ball... (if i remember, he probably needs to get help)
I watched this the other night. The guy is just totally shameless.

I felt sorry for his wife as she just spent the whole thing being humiliated.

He’s just started a two year sentence for sending sexually explicit pictures to a minor and is now on the sex offenders register. I’m not sure oddball quite covers it.

Mind hunter was really well done, and have just finished Godless which again uses the luxury of high budget, long frames and stunning cinematography to tell a great western story filled with convincing and interesting characters - definitely recommended.

So that's where it went to; they skipped having a UK cinema release.

high budget
long fames
stunning cinematography

but......

some terrible acting
poor script
slow
cliched
at times gritty, at others a little trite.

only watched as I'm running out of options on Netflix.

Mindhunter on the other hand is very good.

Yeah, I thought I had missed it in the cinema, or it just wasn't showing at the local Odeon.

Nearly finished watching S1 of Ozark and really liking it. Money launderer for a cartel gets in trouble and moves to hillbilly heaven to try and clean a ton of cash.
