I’ve had a degenerate couple of days and watched 2 seasons of ‘Last Chance U’ on Netflix.
Documentary series about East Mississippi Community College American Football Team.
Not my thing either but it’s really good, crazy insight into a world we as British people generally know nothing about - so much money even at this level and lots of disfunctional kids being pushed through college just because they are promising players.
As for the coaches... the job is their life, absolutely dedicated, one had moved 12 times in 20 years, just to coach teenagers football teams. The coach of my school football team was also the janitor.
If you liked this, I'm sure you'll enjoy All or Nothing.Documentary series about East Mississippi Community College American Football Team.

Two series, following a year with the Arizona Cardinals, and then the LA Rams.
Great insight into a mad, mad world. In fairness the players come over really well, IMO. Much better than PL footballers.
Sorry, just checked and the above is on Prime, not Netflix.
Just finished Glitch. Definitely a weird one, still don’t get some bits of it. Still, it whiled away a couple of evenings.
My problem is checking the iPad occasionally, and missing little bits of whatever show I am watching on telly, or nodding off, with the same result.
Also watched My Name Is Lenny, about some 70s and 80s hard man, Lenny Maclean. Very odd, almost a comedy, but the true(ish) tale of a pretty tough guy. He played a part in the movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

The College and Pro world of AF is very cut throat and i imagine paid level football is the same in this country unless youre a 'name'. Documentary series about East Mississippi Community College American Football Team.

Did you see in the news that one of the players from the 1st Series has been arrested for murder recently?

I was frustrated many times watching it... these kids with a massive opportunity... and they can’t even turn up to class, the only thing they NEED to do, I’m order to have a chance at being a pro sportsman.

I did - can’t remember his name now but I googled most of the main characters as I was watching it... most of them have been in trouble it seems.

Yep, its not hard either as its handed to them as well. Did you see the interviews with the other colleges about 'Last Chance U' College?I was frustrated many times watching it... these kids with a massive opportunity... and they can’t even turn up to class, the only thing they NEED to do, I’m order to have a chance at being a pro sportsman.
College Football is even bigger than the NFL in some areas.
Kingdom Of Us.
Documentary movie about a happy but somewhat dysfunctional English family, with 8 kids, dad moves them to live in isolation in the countryside and they live an odd life. Dad videos them all the time, they seem happy and bonded, then dad commits suicide, apparently out of the blue. The movie explores how and why and what.
Very sad in places, and confusing.

Started watching Narcos yesterday. A story about Pablo Escobar. Pretty good so far. Only thing I don't quite like is all the Pablo esc stuff is in Spanish and therefore they have sub titles which can be bit annoying but it's liveable. Mad what he got up to really.
3 of the best series of TV IMO; the dual language aspect lends to it's authenticity; the amount of Spanish swear words you pick up is amazing Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
