Oh no, The Outsiders has just had a ‘Walking Dead’ style firefight, with ten thousand rounds fired indiscriminately at people hiding behind bulletproof cars.......with nary a round getting through..... frown

Well, just finished Season 2 of Dirk Gently and it delivered.

Happily it stands on its own as it looks like they're not renewing for a third season - a real shame as the world building and storytelling were top notch.

Black Lightning. ( Never heard of him before )

Black man being the underdog - Check
Black man being constantly pulled by the police - Check
Black man being vulnerable because baddies target his family - Check
Every Black man stereotype you can think of - Check. Check and Triple Check.

However - the criticism that Marvel/Netflix - it takes a dogs age ( or 5-6 episodes in ) to gain traction... not here.

I'm really quite enjoying this one.

Although - the superhero disguise somehow manages to be worse than Clark Kent/ Superman - ( aided by a pair of £2.99 specs )

Putting some more popcorn on the heat - and ready to enjoy this one.

It does look so corny I never gave it a glance, but maybe it’ll get a look after I finish my current series.

I got halfway through episode 1 of Black Lightning and had to switch as my interest wandered very quickly, soooo many cliches in one episode.

I’ll give it another go sometime.

Anyone else think that Alex Lawther (main character in "End of the ****ing world) looks like a younger version of Jeremy Clarkson or is it just me?
I think it is a younger version of him, check the credits and the technology used (time slowing)

Seems old fashioned compared to the Arrowverse. Probably because it hits every black super hero cliche out there. Even the Music is 70's cheesy. I would have to say it's Old school and suffers compared to the other DC offerings on the CW. Watching to see if it "grows up".

13 Hours
Set in Libya, based on actual events.
Very realistic action and 2hrs 30mins passed very quickly as the film goes at a sustained pace.
No big name stars so stayed focused on the story.

Saw this at the cinema when it came out; everyone was touting it as the next best war movie since Black Hawk Down - and it was pretty good but I've no real desire to watch it again. No huge names in it, but it is littered with "i know his face" actors such as John Krasinski, David Costabile and James "Generic Action American Movie Star" Badge Dale.

I turned it off after about 10-15 minutes.
I thought it came across as a cross between a 70's blaxploitation and an 80's saturday afternoon action show.
Awful.
Which was a shame as the trailer looked fun.

I liked Punisher and Daredevil, not really watched much of the other Marvel/Netflix stuff.

Watching the first Dirty Money ep and it's about the VW scandal. They're doing a bit of history and use some footage of a 2CV as a '60's VW Beetle laugh

I gave the first episode a full viewing but won’t be watching any more for all the reasons above.

Funny thing is - that is the reason I will be watching it.

Cheese fest.
In fact it is major cheese - Up there with Stinking Bishop.

Just needs the theme tune to Shaft.

Dirty Money has some really interesting episodes. The ones about the VW scandal and one about Trump are particularly good.

Just saw the trailer for it and Altered Carbon does look promising. Finished The Frozen Dead today and quite enjoyed it, so maybe Altered Carbon will be next..

I finished Daredevil. I have done that and Punisher and liked them both - especially the latter.

Are the other Marvel offerings worth it?
Jessica Jones. Hell yeah.
Luke Cage. Pretty good.
Iron Fist. Meh.

I haven't seen Defenders or Punisher yet.
Thanks will check JJ out first.
