Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
New "Dragons Race to the Edge" pops up tomorrow on Netflix. Its Season 6 and the last before the Film series continues with what is due to be the last of the trilogy. Will they unmask Trader Johan and will he get to the King Of Dragons beofre Hiccup, Astrid and the gang figure out his plan.
Just to confuse things "Riders" takes place between Train you Dragon 1 and 2 as Stoick is still alive in the TV Dragons.

Just finished watching Dark which I thought was excellent. Personally thought it was much better than Stranger Things which it has been compared to. I did find it a little tricky following who all the characters were across the 3 timelines and the dubbing was annoying at times, but it really is worth a watch.
Altered Carbon I thought was really good. Haven't read the books so could't get annoyed with the changes to the storyline others have mentioned.
Am just catching up with Better Call Saul eventually, after watching Breaking bad a few years ago. So far (5 episodes in) I'm liking it...

Current watching drug lords.
Very interesting. The sums of money these people deal with is just mind boggling. In one story they bought an old Boeing 7 something 7 for a million dollars, loaded it with cocaine, flew it to where is was going, unloaded it and then just left it there, because they couldn't be arsed with bringing it back. That coupled with Pablo earning 130 plus million a DAY at one point. Just mind bending amounts of money.....all of it coming from the sale of drugs to the US.

Finished Altered Carbon last night after a busy couple of weeks. Overall I'd give it a 7/10 I reckon.
The visuals are clearly stolen from Bladerunner, but the story and how it was written was quite fresh and interesting to me.
Spoilered bit in case others haven't finished yet:
It looks like Kovacs will be getting a fresh sleeve for the next series - new actor in the lead role, which is firstly very interesting and a good way to interject a bit of fresh meat into the show and secondly, brilliant because I can't stand Joel Kinnaman as an actor, he's dreadful.
Bonus points to the show for having a fair bit of nudity (though that does make it somewhat awkward to watch on the train/tube) and i'm sure there are many sci-fi fanboys out there who were very happy to see Dichen Lachman in the buff. Ortega was more my cuppa though

Who?
Was he the guy at the end of the last episode that left me thinking
a) who's that guy?
b) huh?
c) where's the closure guys?
I'm willing to accept that the failure of understanding was my own
He was another serial killer - I think the real one worked in a similar job but the main thing was his posting letters to plod and the press, as this guy was doing; his nickname 'BTK' was for Blind, Torture, Kill - his MO. The unit was involved in the early period then the case went cold for years and it wasn't until recently they caught up with him - perhaps in the show this 'one that got away' was just showing that aspect. Was he the guy at the end of the last episode that left me thinking

- just looked it up - his real name was Dennis Rader.
