The War another Ken Burns deep-dive documentary, this time focused on America's involvement in WWII. Extensive and insightful, just like it's Vietnam counterpart.

Finished Altered Carbon last night after a busy couple of weeks. Overall I'd give it a 7/10 I reckon.

The visuals are clearly stolen from Bladerunner, but the story and how it was written was quite fresh and interesting to me.

Spoilered bit in case others haven't finished yet:

It looks like Kovacs will be getting a fresh sleeve for the next series - new actor in the lead role, which is firstly very interesting and a good way to interject a bit of fresh meat into the show and secondly, brilliant because I can't stand Joel Kinnaman as an actor, he's dreadful.

Bonus points to the show for having a fair bit of nudity (though that does make it somewhat awkward to watch on the train/tube) and i'm sure there are many sci-fi fanboys out there who were very happy to see Dichen Lachman in the buff. Ortega was more my cuppa though biggrin
The nudity gave it a very 80's vibe while still being bang up to date visually, I liked it although not one to watch with gran, and Ortega is not bad looking, to say the least.

Finally recently got into Californication, binged the whole 7 seasons in about 4 weeks...excellent stuff! Just discovered Everything Sucks - high school comedy drama set in the 90s...great fun, I've watched 9 episodes in 3 days

Watched The Cloverfield Paradox last night. Not as bad as I was expecting and it sets up the a lot of the the first two films. It’ll be interesting to see the 4th film which I believe is due later this year in cinemas.

TBH another vote for Dichen Lachman - though Ortega isn't exactly gopping either

If you're into UFO documentaries you must watch "the unacknowledged".
It's a proper mind opener.

Thanks for that, another excellent series. Makes me savour the fortune I have to be born in peace and not during this period of history.

I've just binge watched Damnation over the past few nights and really enjoyed it. Good solid cast and on the whole the story is well done. 8/10 from me.

Just started watching Fauda which is an Israeli drama about the Palestinian/Israeli troubles, seems pretty well balanced. Only seen the first 3 episodes but I'm enjoying it so far.

Watched it this evening, it's just a pity they always go off the reservation with crazy talk of unlimited power being hidden from us and that bit about the cia recreating an alien invasion! Lol.

The specific stuff regarding the ufos was very interesting especially from the astronauts and the audio from the moon landings.

Unfortunately the clichés, teriible acting by 50p and hackneyed character development made me give up after a while.
Mr Power the nightclub man's wife is fking gorgeous though(but another awful character).
