Thanks for highlighting this. Compelling viewing or what?
It's excellent. The guy that rescued the chap from the burning car was given a local commendation for his efforts. Properly messed with his head.Hope there is another series.
The Expanse
Really enjoyed both seasons. I think somebody previously described it as 'deep sci fi' which I think is a great description.
Lots of complexity around lots of different storylines, great visuals with sufficient cheese to not take itself too seriously. Managed to successfully get across the myriad of strange planet/moon/station/ship names in a way that you (I!) could remember unlike GoT where you need to recall that he's her second cousin from a scene 5 years ago.
Only spoiled by the total lack of chemistry between the two leads (think Rick Grimes/Michonne levels of awkward)
9/10
Expedition Happiness
I don't know. Maybe it was the spring sunshine on a Sunday afternoon, but all of a sudden the idea of watching a documentary about a couple converting an american school bus to travel around the americas sounded appealing.
Cue sad face to camera when nasty US boarder patrol kept them waiting - 'but everybody knows we're just travelling through and not wanting to stay here; it's all over the internet'.
Cue man pouting to camera. Seriously the bloke was doing the trout face thing.
Cue upsetting scenes with a dog (St Bernard) getting heat stroke when they take it outside for a walk in Death Valley. Who would have thought?! 'I don't know what we're going to do, but we need to focus on solutions, not problems' The next day they figure out that it's probably better to take the dog out in the early morning/evening when the sun's not out.
Now I'm the antithesis of the snowflake hating, NP&E, PH acolyte, but jesus christ these two needing shooting
Then I realised. It's called 'Expedition Happiness'. That is all you need to know.

Finished Altered Carbon last night after a busy couple of weeks. Overall I'd give it a 7/10 I reckon.
The visuals are clearly stolen from Bladerunner, but the story and how it was written was quite fresh and interesting to me.
Spoilered bit in case others haven't finished yet:
It looks like Kovacs will be getting a fresh sleeve for the next series - new actor in the lead role, which is firstly very interesting and a good way to interject a bit of fresh meat into the show and secondly, brilliant because I can't stand Joel Kinnaman as an actor, he's dreadful.
Bonus points to the show for having a fair bit of nudity (though that does make it somewhat awkward to watch on the train/tube) and i'm sure there are many sci-fi fanboys out there who were very happy to see Dichen Lachman in the buff. Ortega was more my cuppa though
there are three books in the Altered Carbon series, set on three different planets, in each book Kovaks is needlecast to that planet and a new skin, so to e true to the books it should be three different leads. The visuals are clearly stolen from Bladerunner, but the story and how it was written was quite fresh and interesting to me.

I liked Kinnerman, but I know I am in the minority.
Just finished watching all of Homeland, right from the very start, for the first time. Yes....I'm rather late to the scene on this one
Never fancied it, but if you've not watched it, get on it! It really is a brilliant series.
Rupert Friends portrayal of Quinn is a stand out performance, quite brilliant and one of the most compelling pieces of acting I've seen.
A big from me!

I just finished these too, in readiness to watch Season 7 that’s just started on channel 4 - Found the last few seasons a bit slow and difficult to get into, but after a few episodes they’d get going and i’d be hooked. Agree about Quinn, great character - just a shame Morena Baccarin was only in the first couple of seasons Never fancied it, but if you've not watched it, get on it! It really is a brilliant series.

I know I mentioned it a couple of posts ago but I’m further into it and
Fauda is fking brilliant. An Israeli drama with subtitles but really gritty and well balanced showing both sides of the the Israeli/palastinian issues. One of the best series I’ve seen in a while

She's still in Gotham.Only just got around to watching "Making a murderer" Season 1.
I really find it hard to understand how this could happen and feel from the evidence presented that a killer is still on the loose and the most dangerous people in that county were those paid to act as law enforcement. Horrific to watch for the victim and the convicted.

Downfall has been added, the film that the 'ranting Hitler' parody videos are from.
