The original content is generally pretty good, high production value stuff. The co-produced stuff likewise, then of course they buy everything else in.
It's always been better for TV series than movies in my opinion but you get some good older-new movies.

If you want latest release movies then it's not going to give you that.

What were you expecting?

Netflix is generally about their own productions and there is some fantastic stuff in there, yes there are also old re runs of certain series that have aired elsewhere and older movies but they are not really what Netflx is about.

White Gold - Good comedy series starring Jay and Simon from The Inbetweeners, based on a double glazing showroom in 1983 and the scams they get up to - really funny in places, and a great soundtrack
Yes very funny, it was originally aired last year I think on one of the terrestrial channels.
Also liked this, watched it some time ago on Netflix just by chance when flicking through and got hooked

Happy

Binged this over the weekend, and enjoyed it very much. Violent, graphic and funny. Second series apparently being lined up...

Cool, I'll give it a try later.

I've just signed up to a free month of Netflix.
At 1st glance it appears to be mostly already aired tv shows, old films with the occasional recent film and a few of their own productions ?
Is that a good summary ?
There's not a huge amount in the way of newer films - it's not like Sky Movies. But most subscribers usually get hooked on the TV series that are on there. Have a flick through this thread and you'll find some real gems!

I was concerned about lack of new content / films etc before I signed up but I currently have 64 films and series on "My List". biggrin

The new Drugs Inc episodes are good.

Precinct Seven Five is probably the most interesting documentary I have ever watched.

Episodes being back is great.

I bloody love Netflix biggrin

I think I was expecting latest films and not repeats of Benidorm 😊

And you get to watch stuff advert free. I find watching normal television, even with a PVR quite jarring.

You have to qualify that with 'currently' though. Long term the price charged by a loss making company will only head one way.

There are big rumours they are going to go for live sports streaming in the coming years, which will be fantastic! In the UK I currently have Virgin solely for Sky Sports and BT Sports and in Sweden I have Viaplay for sports there, so if Netflix had enough football to satisfy me I would be able to cut two subscriptions out and just have Netflix and NowTV.

I’m so torn around cancelling Sky. Westworld and GoT. Is it worth it? Maybe one more year... :/

Get NowTV - you can do live streaming of several Sky channels and also watch them add free on the catch up.

Good point, we have a combination of Netflix and NowTV kids. We also have a virgin box which is part of our broadband package which has been unplugged and stuffed in a cupboard. The advertising on kids channels seemed relentless.

I've been using Netflix, Amazon Prime and Now TV for a couple of years now with no Sky subscription.

Now TV is for the movies, but to be honest, we don't really watch it, so it'll likely go soon.

Netflix is our go to entertainment.

Currently watching Ozark, took an episode or two to get into it, but I think it's really good and could go in lots of directions...Season 2 confirmed for later this year.
