4 episodes into The Rain. I’m watching in Danish (I think) with English subtitles, can’t watch with dubbing.

Interesting apocalyptic style story line. Plenty that doesn’t yet make sense, lots of questions to answer and exploring to do. So far so good.

White Gold is pretty funny.

Hard to believe it was made by the BBC.

Why? The BBC have traditionally made brilliant comedy - far better than any other UK broadcaster.

There are big rumours they are going to go for live sports streaming in the coming years, which will be fantastic! In the UK I currently have Virgin solely for Sky Sports and BT Sports and in Sweden I have Viaplay for sports there, so if Netflix had enough football to satisfy me I would be able to cut two subscriptions out and just have Netflix and NowTV.
Just as long as it's a seperate or optional package. I have zero interest in sports so a massive price increase for stuff I'm not interested in would put me off. Hopefully they will follow a NowTV model for this.

I agree, I would not be paying extra for sports I will never watch.

CH4 used to commission some great stuff, Drop the Dead Donkey, Black Books for two.

Wish they would up the ante.

There was huge buzz and lots of rumours and worry over the last rights deal for the footy. There are a lot of players out there with deep pockets that can worry the usual suspects. Deliveriey another thing though.

Its completely unPC and racist at times. I suppose its capturing the 80s perfectly.

Really liked this 8.5/10
Slightly stylised with a few comedy moments thrown in.

Netflix know their current market. If I were a gambling man, I'd roll the dice on there being the following 3 options if they do end up broadcasting sports:

1. Standalone Original Netflix
2. Standalone Sports Netflix
3. Full Netflix with Sports and Original Netflix combined

Netflix is infinitely better value than Sky!
And you get to watch stuff advert free. I find watching normal television, even with a PVR quite jarring.
I’m so torn around cancelling Sky. Westworld and GoT. Is it worth it? Maybe one more year... :/
Good point, we have a combination of Netflix and NowTV kids. We also have a virgin box which is part of our broadband package which has been unplugged and stuffed in a cupboard. The advertising on kids channels seemed relentless.
It’s hard to get signals where I live for much other than BT/Sky. No cable etc. Internet is st. Soooooo slow. Even Netflix is sometimes hard to watch. Have an Amazon Prime account and something else that the kids have set up. I’m not great at changing providers for anything to be honest.

Spitting Image - Ch 4.

Max Headroom - Ch 4.

Not wanting to derail an otherwise sound thread, but the Beeb should be on the top spot with the budget they have (comedy is usually a really cheap format). But instead we get Mrs. Brown's Boys...

I think White Gold was up for another series but the lead got caught up in the MeToo accusations.

Back on topic.

Bone tomahawk. Excellent, 9/10.

And for nostalgia a full serving of pulp fiction, a masterpiece.
