Season 5 of Rake starts on ABC later this month, so hopefully it'll be on Netflix son after!

Pretty sure quite a few will have seen this when it was on the BBC/iplayer, but Ken Burn's long-form doc The Vietnam War is now on Netflix; looks like it's the full US release as well (around 900 mins IIRC) instead of the edited 650-minute BBC version. Deep dive, but such a thorough insight into a very complex war.
Working my way through this now - currently on ep 8.

Absolutely fascinating and essential viewing. I didn't catch it on iPlayer, but that must be some savage editing to lop off almost a quarter...

The end of the f***ing world.

Excellent. And it shows that a series only needs to be 8 odd episodes. Not the 24 episodes a lot of junk is dragged out to be, just tell the story don't keep adding twist after twist until it becomes a nonsensical mess.

Enjoyed end of the f'ing world, and this is how it ends. Also, F is for family, and big mouth. Struggling to get into altered carbon but haven't given up on it.

Watched Icarus last night.

Quite astonishing. We were utterly gripped by the whole thing. That film maker must have thought god had dropped a gift in his lap when that kicked off.

That is a superb documentary, Oscar winning and rightly so.

Likely to have been mentioned already but I started watching Unsolved - The Tupac and Notorious BIG murders on Sunday night and onto episode 7 of 10 already. Really good so far and done well, good cross over between the BIG murder being investigated at the time and the task force reinvestigating in 06. Well worth a watch.

Finished 'Altered Carbon' yesterday. Thought it was very good, some excellent concepts - though I always hate it when the plot is explained at the end. Should be shown, not told!

I read earlier on this thread that a second season has been confirmed. Good.

My girlfriend and I are enjoying this. I wouldn't say it's gripping, or has the "must watch another one" appeal that a lot of good Netflix series have. Also, we've found the script and acting to be quite wooden at times. But other than that it's been a good little series so far.

I totally agree about your comment on the script/acting, some of it was pretty terrible but I still enjoyed it also, worth a watch for sure even if you aren't interested in the music side of things.

Yup. Enjoyed The Defiant Ones and a couple of related documentaries and series. This isn't quite as good but definitely still worth watching.

Final space isn't available here in Austria for some reason, I recently got a VPN for my fire stick so I could get iplayer etc, so I tried with the Netflix app and was able to watch the first episode of it before Netflix somehow detected I was using a proxy of some kind and wouldn't let the next episode play rolleyes

Looks like I will have to use Kodi to watch the rest...
