Godless
Apologies if this has been mentioned previously but it is seriously good. And thankfully a mini-series with a beginning, middle and end rather than a weak idea stretched out over 18 tedious seasons.
Wow... that was something else!Apologies if this has been mentioned previously but it is seriously good. And thankfully a mini-series with a beginning, middle and end rather than a weak idea stretched out over 18 tedious seasons.
Westerns arnt my thing - but that had me hooked!! As you said - 7 episodes is ideal.
I had to double check, still can’t quite believe the last time I saw the guy that plays Roy Goode was in Skins!!
Agree Godless was very good though!

Watched I am Wrath. Think I've seen it before but it's a solid watch. I liked it.
This is an example where it’s good we live in world where people have different tastes. At least someone liked it. I though it was utter utter st I don’t think I even watched to the very end. Lazermilk said:

Edge of Seventeen
Fancied watching this after a positive kermode review a year or so ago. Ended up being 13 reasons why meets 16 candles, but not in a good way. Made it to the end but what is it about self absorbed teenage girls?
6.5/10 mainly because Woody Harrelson did a really good job of playing Woody Harrelson.

Catching up on Shooter last night which is getting a bit too far fetched, but I'm still enjoying it.
There's an episode this season that features a 3D printed gun, the printer producing one identical to the one used by John Malkovich in the film In The Line Of Fire. I've had a google but can't seem to find if anyone else has spotted this nice little easter egg.
Not very exciting but I do like it when people do stuff like that.

Just watched Caliber and found it thoroughly enjoyable, some real edge of the seat moments.
Realistic too, no Hollywood special effects here and it's all the better for it.
Yep this passed the no laptop/phone test for both me and the wife last night, which is rare thing. Realistic too, no Hollywood special effects here and it's all the better for it.
The familiarity of the landscape setting draws you in and the Shallow Grave/American Werewolf/Wicker Man vibe places it strongly ahead of the usual throwaway Made for Netflix fodder.
It's well paced and a good watch.
The stunning scenery was beautifully filmed too.
I think the trailer gives too much away though - better to plunge straight in - you'll know soon enough if it's for you or not...

Whilst I can tolerate the autoplaying of a trailer when you move your cursor over a programme on the main nav menu, I do struggle when Glass Castle (on the main 'popular on netflix' line), throws up a trailer of a young child setting herself on fire and screaming in agony, burning alive on the floor of a family house.
I get that the scene may be integral and therefore appropriate within the show itself had I selected it, but is it really suitable to autoplay on a nav menu next to the cartoons that my kids watch?
Sorry, needed to get that off my chest.

On my Netflix, you can't even search for Glass Castle let alone see a trailer when you enter via the Home Page and choose "Children" under Who's Watching.Whilst I can tolerate the autoplaying of a trailer when you move your cursor over a programme on the main nav menu, I do struggle when Glass Castle (on the main 'popular on netflix' line), throws up a trailer of a young child setting herself on fire and screaming in agony, burning alive on the floor of a family house.

Having said that the film is Rated 12.
Are you in the UK?

You can turn the auto play feature off in settings. UK based and the kids have their own controlled 'logins'. Thanks for the tip on switching auto play off.
I get that if I'm in my login and I scroll to horror etc then I'm going to get reasonably graphic/adult trailers. But on my 'Popular on Netflix' line I have Kung Fu Panda, Wallace and Gromit then an innocuous looking picture of a woman, which when highlighted shows an equally innocuous picture of a family next to an old 50's chevy(?), which then autoplays to a young girl playing with a zippo which then cuts to her in flames on the floor.
Anyway, I've wandered off topic and moral panic over. Just thought it was a bit off that's all.
