I have an annoyance.
I'm working my way through lilyhammer, which is brilliant by the way.
S3 picture quality is shocking and i'm seeing it more and more on netflix. S1&2 were sharp as a tack but this one is really grainy and looks like some shonky copy. Is it the introduction of HDR?
Probably stating the obvious here, but do you have a decent/stable internet connection?I'm working my way through lilyhammer, which is brilliant by the way.

If the speeds vary then the quality on Netflix will too.

Another shout for Wind River - excellent film. I'd skimmed over it a few times until I saw the number of recommendations in this thread.
Another shout for Wind River . Keep them comingWatched it on the basis of these two posts and it didn't disappoint.

This was very good, recommended.FInished Altered Carbon and yes it did improve. Whoever wrote it has a bloody sadistic mind.

Bit of a Japanese animation binge recently. Seems to be mostly Polygon Pictures stuff:
Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters + Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle. Future-set traditional Godzilla stuff. Nicely made, not a bad story, but in these Godzilla is a bit too much of an old school megathreat for my tastes. Worth a watch.
GANTZ:O - very odd one! People that die are resurrected and put into some sort of response unit that fights monsters?! Nice animation and a pretty good standalone story, at least the bits I think I understood were.
Attack on Titan. Giants eat people is the basic concept! Actually made some sort of sense on a second watching. Odd storyline, Netflix only have Season 1 which isn't really enough in itself. I have streamed the other seasons elsewhere (they are legally available in Japanese with subtitles) and am now up to date with the current broadcasts and it makes more sense now. Not much, but more.
A.I.C.O - another odd one. Involves a cyborg schoolgirl and some sort of mutant flesh monster than has taken over a chunk of Japan? I don't know if there are other seasons but this one works standalone though the story isn't really that strong. Typical manga oddness/science gone wrong stuff. Big dose of 'typical' female anime characters which really didn't help it.
BLAME! People living in a giant automated city that for at least a couple of millennia has been doing it's own thing, endlessly expanding and trying to exterminate the 'illegal' residents. Apparently this is taken from a big multi volume manga story and might make more sense in context. As ever really nicely designed and animated but the story left me a bit cold as it starts from nowhere and doesn't end far away from that.
AJIN: still watching this. There are some humans who can't die (or rather who die, then resurrect) and have powers. They are hunted down by governments & bad stuff happens. Story is easy enough to follow and pretty interesting so far.
Also watched Death Note (recent Western live action one, not the older live action Japanese version) - pretty good but a bit short - and the older animated series version. The animated version is good and has much more story but feels a bit too long and the story loses its way towards the end. Easy watch for first 2/3, last 1/3 was a struggle.

Heard a lot of people talking about disenchanted and final space. Most seem to be just ok...
As for anime, on Netflix I think I recently went through one punch man (brilliant), Tokyo ghoul (generally good but not very funny) and devilman crybaby which was ok until the last few episodes which were a bit depressing.
Killing bites I think was on Amazon and I enjoyed that, good fun, kinda in the kill la kill vein. High school of the dead and seven deadly sins are also good fun
