I watched Only the Brave last night on the back of this. I say watched, I had to fast forward about 40 minutes of turgid crap in the middle, but dear god it was awful.
Obviously not knocking the guys/true story, but the film... dear me.
Agree, it was crap.Obviously not knocking the guys/true story, but the film... dear me.
And I found it hard to see how scratching small lines in the dirt and chopping down the odd tree stops a massive fire.
And I questioned the sanity of getting yourself in front of said behemoth, setting more fire to stuff around you and then expecting not to get roasted alive in your personal protection bag?
A film I couldn't relate to at all, we don't get many forest fires round here though

Dunno if it's any good, but it's got Constance Nunes in:

Finally finished El Chapo.
I tried to watch it straight after Narcos, after one episode decided didn't really like it due to being dubbed over in English and gave it a miss. I picked it up about 6 months later and watched it in English. I got to series 2 episode 1 and then realised you could switch languages, best thing I did, enjoyed it a lot more in Spanish with subtitles.
Really enjoyed the 3 series.

2 or 3 episodes in now, feels very Gilliam to me, Brazil in particular. This is a good thing
Brazil is exactly what it reminds me of, and definitely a good thing. Two episodes in and loving it, but had to check the thread to make sure it wasn't going to be a waste of time.Schmed said:
Maniac is dull. Is it me or is it that the more cash they throw at these ‘internally developed’ “box sets” the more mediocre they become ?
Different strokes for different folks. Personally thought it was fantastic but can see its not for everyone. Slow burn but ultimately rewarding, like a good book. Its a film/tv geek kind of heaven, reminiscent of donnie darko, twin peaks, black mirror, gilliam, neil gaiman and wes anderson even. If those aren’t on your radar it will be a miss. Watched series one of norsemen. Watchable but not great. Thought it was a uk production with irish/welsh actors putting on the accents at first. Very british style comedy from the norwegians, although the pacing could be better the ingredients are there.
