I know I'm behind but binged Punisher this weekend. Ready for season 2. Intrigue got the better of me and although I don't know what happens apparently Marvel content is being paired back ALOT! Which is mad as other than Luke Chase, Jessica whatsit , oh and the golden fist chap Punisher and Daredevil are brilliant..... Ok I might of answered my own question
Disney about 20th Century Fox, Foxed owns Marvel. So now Disney owns Marvel.

Netflix has a licencing deal with Marvel to produce the TV stuff.

Disney are moving into the streaming world with DisneyPlus. They will do their own Marvel shows. Although Netflix could carry on with their Marvel deal, anything they produce would promote the Marvel offerings Disney will eventually do. Hence the cancellation of Netflix/Marvel shows.

Also why Netflix have ramped up their own series of shows and movies, producing their own content. Studios are pulling movies from services like Prime and Netflix. Not only is Disney coming for them, Apple are launching their own service this year.

I think competition wise they are exposed but they have the luxury of complete autonomy. Disney will have to include fox at some point and apple (I assume) will want to make sure they keep some sort of exclusivity through using their hardware for delivery.

For now I think Netflix are reacting well by ploughing cash and time into really good, original content.

Where I think I they could do better though is something thats geared towards family content, standard 2 + 1 market with kids around the ten year old mark.

It's rare that there is a film where absolutely NOTHING happens. But this is one of them
Seems I’m in the minority here. In my defence I was searching for something that might be interesting for my 11 year old too so applied some tolerance to it. On reflection and had I started it mark did likely not have finished.

Interesting. They certainly have the capital to build a solid production outfit, be interesting to see what they can do.

Definitely... Prime and Netflix have spent a massive amount of money buying in talent. Netflix have gone to town in a big way with not just American fodder. The service isn't just available internationally. They are producing local content for their customer. The only problem that I can see for then is DisneyPlus, Prime and Apples movies & TV services have the backing of mother ships generating large profits though Apple makes way more than the other two.

Possibly to do with them not being able to move quickly enough to change specs all the time? I mean how long does a state of the art TV stay 'current'? I dont know the cycle but TV's seems to be changing and getting serious price cuts all the time - the exact opposite of what Apple do.

I was thinking the same. I have 4 smart tellys in the house, 2 which are older and will not take the newest version of Netflix. I guess it’s only so long that can continue before the end user experience suffers.

That said people are changing tellys a lot more often these days. I seen a 65” LG the other day for about £500. Almost disposable.

I was just going through some old paperwork the other day, and found and binned the 3 year warranty for our telly... which is now over 10 years old.
Am I doing this wrong???

My brother in law just bought an LG 75inch 4K for £999. Not as cheap, but it would have been about £7m around 5 years ago hehe

Bad Blood.

I’m about halfway through episode 1 and it’s been predictable rubbish thus far. I don’t think I can be bothered to watch any more.

The Fyre Festival documentary.

Superb and what an absolute balls up of epic proportions. Had me wondering the whole way through "is this guy just so far in over his head with false belief in himself" or "is he an absolute crook"

People frequently say throughout they could never work out if he was a genius or an absolute buffoon.

His actions whilst on bail made that choice pretty easy.

Just mad how instagram influencers, a well shot promotional video and blind faith drummed up such a mistake

Also watched IO.

Nope, thats a nope from me. utter ste.

Finished Titans, it trailed off towards the end. The Dove and Hawk episode just seemed to be filler and the final ep was odd.
With Robin, Dove, Hawk, Raven and tiger boy I think they wanted to make a nature documentary.
