The Fyre Festival documentary.
Superb and what an absolute balls up of epic proportions. Had me wondering the whole way through "is this guy just so far in over his head with false belief in himself" or "is he an absolute crook"
People frequently say throughout they could never work out if he was a genius or an absolute buffoon.
His actions whilst on bail made that choice pretty easy.
Just mad how instagram influencers, a well shot promotional video and blind faith drummed up such a mistake
Also watched IO.
Nope, thats a nope from me. utter ste.
I said to my wife, I think I might leave my job and start scamming people. It's utterly baffling how easy it seems to separate idiots from their money.Superb and what an absolute balls up of epic proportions. Lashing thousands on tickets to some festival which had never been staged before, in a place you've never been to, and doing zero research on who the organisers are, what the travel arrangements are etc.
Then the people who gave him $100,000 for non-existent tickets while he was on bail. Just sheer idiocy.

I also loved that his previous members black card scam of 'magnises' where he promised discounted VIP tickets to concerts etc...... was all funded through the fyre scam. he spent over 500k on the amex card buying these tickets to 'sell' back to the members at discounted prices. all just to keep the scam running, keep the cash coming in, keeping things ticking along. I'm just amazed at how long he managed to keep the cash coming in from investors. its all just a pyramid, and once the cash stops it all falls apart.

I cant fathom someone so out of touch with the real world that can think they can go from nothing to a music festival in 2 months.
I expected it to say something like - 2 years to festival
I think something like Reading Festival begins being constructed about 2-3 months before it starts each year. And that is when EVERYTHING is known down to the most minute details years in advance (through experience) and with a team of probably hundreds of experienced people knowing what goes on every square foot of ground within the site and all bands/food/drink deals set up ages before.
AND people bring their own accomodation!
AND it doesnt involve arranging transport for people.
AND it isnt on a remote island with no infrastructure.
AND the company running it are an actual company with you know, money and stuff.
Just staggering.

I’m trying to watch ‘You’. Rave reviews but it’s pretentious toss. The Mrs sadly loves it so I’m probably in for the long haul.
It’s portrayed from a Man’s point of view, but one who thinks more like a women.
Well I thought ‘You’ was brilliant. A lot of plot holes but if you don’t mind that, it’s ace. It’s portrayed from a Man’s point of view, but one who thinks more like a women.
8.9/10!!
I've watched a couple of foreign language series (which have subtitles) both of which were great :
El Ministerio del tiempo - the ministry of time : a Spanish series about time travel. Good plots and characters, dramatic/funny and exposes some Spanish history/characters that I knew little about.
A very secret service : a French series about a new recruit to the French secret service. A drama-comedy series set in the 60's and plays on the themes of colonialism and bureaucracy.

Season 2 of the Punisher is now up.
I'm about two thirds of the way through it and, it really is a cut above other similar offerings. They certainly don't shy away from the violence being graphic, my goodness!
If you enjoyed season 1, you're going to love season 2!
Agreed, I have the last episode of season 2 left. I'm about two thirds of the way through it and, it really is a cut above other similar offerings. They certainly don't shy away from the violence being graphic, my goodness!

I have a concern, does anybody know with Disney making there own streaming service will this series or indeed other Marvel/Netflix series get canned? Also will Disney sprinkle fairy dust on the shows and make them soft. The Punisher is hardcore and exactly how it should be.

These two links shed light on what Disney will likely do and why Netflix are cancelling the Marvel shows they have a licence to make.

I don't see Disney resurrecting the Netflix shows for DisneyPlus... Luke, Daredevil and more so The Punisher, though the plots are strong, major on hardcore brutality... as you say, it should be.

Especially the part where it says new Marvel content does not really gain them more customers its the other content that leads people into watching Marvel content. Maybe that's true.
For me I think I subscribed for Narco's or Stranger things after hearing so many good things about it but I was planning on cancelling Netflix for a while as the content for me lately had dried up. It was only the upcoming release of Punisher 2 that kept me subscribed, so I may now cancel for a few months and wait for some more content. Subscribe again watch in a month then rinse and repeat.
Oh and your comments about Daredevil in the Punisher thread ill watch that first. Cheers
As for Disney, they make great Marvel films that are suitable for family viewing but The Punisher is for me when the kids are in bed or im off for the day. Id appreciate it if Netflix and Disney recognised this.

Disney also controls Hulu, so they'll use that for content that the don't feel suitable for the Disney brand/tone.Especially the part where it says new Marvel content does not really gain them more customers its the other content that leads people into watching Marvel content. Maybe that's true.

Dealt - a documentary film detailing an incredible close up card magician. Contains a big shock. Worth a watch but goes on a bit too long.
6.5/10 as he is an interesting character.
I came on to post this one up, I really enjoyed it, more of a 7.4 IMO 6.5/10 as he is an interesting character.

I hadn't heard of Richard Turner or known what a "card mechanic" was before this.
