Dirty John - not really feeling it. Like watching the OC. The wife can't act for st (every time she is confronted about John's behaviour she just does this same confused/sad look). Eric Bana is decent but he can't carry the whole thing for me.

A lot of you seem to love it, so fair enough!
Pretty much my feelings on it so far (3 episodes in). Connie Britton was great in Friday Night Lights but I tend to agree her performance is weak in this.

Bana is good but I don't get the same sense of dread / he's not sinister enough, in the same way Alexander Skarsgard was in Big Little Lies for instance.

Triple Frontier. Typical 'murica Hoo-RAH! script. Well shot ( i read that this is one of the first to be shot in supe 6k). Scenery is beautiful but has already been mentioned they made some mistakes that those who perhaps were in these specialist forces would cringe at.

7 duffel bags out of 10 kilo's.

Also, the ending was just pish. All that effort for nothing..... or was it wink;);)

Can we have a Ricky Gervais thread elsewhere?

I can't fking stand him or anything he's in.
I don’t like him as a rule but Afterlife is fantastic TV. REALLY funny in places and incredibly heartfelt in others.

I don't like him either, disliked The Office and most of his other stuff, but being a miserable sod myself the premise of this appealed so thought I would give it a go, watched all 6 in one sitting, blubbing by the end

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann is now available, which I’m sure will generate a little bit of debate elsewhere on PH.

Whatever your feelings are about the McCanns, this documentary should not have been made without the consent of the family.

Totally agree, not a fan at all but thought this was brilliant. Really funny one minute then welling up the next.
It does lay it on a bit thick in places but it was good enough to be forgiven.

Why?

"IF" they did it, I expect they wouldn't give consent.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but “Beyond the Curve” is a great documentary about the flat earth society. Definitely worth a watch. I must stress I’m not a flat eather.

I see Three Girls is now on Netflix. Wouldn't say it's an easy watch given the subject matter, but it certainly is a good drama.

Unless you wanted a laugh, I see no point in watching a bunch of morons smile

A laugh is one way of putting it.

I read somewhere that the whole thing was started by some folks messing around and giving funny names to things.

I kept watching it for all of them to have a big group photo at the end, pissing themselves laughing and telling us they are just kidding.

Same here, discovered this last night and rinsed it in one sitting... If you have never seen Derek then give that a go - that was equally enjoyable. Never got on with 'Extras' but admit I enjoyed the Office back in the day...
