I've seen it mentioned here a few times - Arrested Development

Quite silly - but very watchable with a few laughs (also quite a bit of subtle / half hidden funny details that might be missed).

I was looking for a good series to get into and this seems to be fitting the bill quite nicely.

The lad from Superbad (playing pretty much that same part)
The Dad from Ozark (similar role but a lot less dark!)
Portia de Rossi - say no more.

I don’t know what it was but i could never get on with Arrested Development

It might be worth a third chance (Breaking Bad got 4 chances and I still think it’s unrealistic and poorly acted)

I almost jacked it in after the first episode as it just seemed a bit simple / stupid - but it got me hooked.. although only just starting series 2 and seems to have gone on for quite a bit.

I just could not get into that 'Santa Clarita Diet' series but everyone on here and a few friends were raving about it!

thats what I thought - they have changed the picture on the NF menu though. There is a new series coming at some point isnt there?

I watched Dead to me over the weekend, with Christina Applegate and the delightful Linda Cardellini.

Woman's husband killed in a hit and run, she goes to grief help group, meets Linda Cardellini's character who is a bit out there. They bond and become fast friends and the twisty, turny narrative unfolds from there.

It was not at all what I expected. It was a bittersweet, sometimes very funny, sometimes incredibly sad (a dramedy then) but, always thoroughly entertaining.

Definitely recommended.

Oh, and did I mention that Linda Cardellini is in it cloud9
Binged the first 6 yesterday, so far so good. thumbup

Always be my maybe.

Decidedly avoidable average romcom, but there's a 10 minute segment in the middle that seems like it comes from another film and is sharply funny.

Slightly left field but currently watching “circus”. A 2 part documentary on the history of the American circus. From P T Barnum up to the middle of this century.

I don’t really have much interest in the circus but this is fascinating. The scale is incredible - big tops with multiple rings, housing over 16000 people.

Couple of the big showmen were turning over in excess of 1.5m dollars - in the mid 1800’s.

The historical footage is interesting - the obsession with animals and having the most and biggest was something I’d never really thought about.
Thank you, on first episode now and very very interested.,

Is Netflix going off the boil? I find it harder to find things I can really look forward to or would love a binge.

I signed up for Amazon's service recently and some of their stuff is refreshing.

they are doing load of experiments, for example like realising stuff without marketing to monitor user interactions. I find typing in a random word in search bar, brings up loads of stuff i might like

It's not been great for us lately. Nothing new, nothing interesting in the recommended.

Doesn't help that 'normal' tv has now pretty much all dried up for summer.

But that’s the issue. Their back catalogue is vast. Search actors you like. It’s £8 a month. Sky is the enemy as far as I’m concerned

With all of the talk of all of these competitors coming into the market I don’t think it’s going to be getting better any time soon either.

I started watching Undercover (Dutch drama about an ecstasy dealer and how the Police try and catch him) and it’s decidedly average. I gave it a real go but just couldn’t get in to it

Bad blood season 2 is up now. Season 1 just about kept my attention. I'm astonished just how much eyeliner main guy has upgraded to from sons of anarchy.

I recently came across this site which tracks new releases on Netflix sorted by release date.

Fascinating stuff! All I can imagine is the performers / staff really can't have got much sleep!

Thanks for mentioning this one - it would have totally passed me by otherwise.

They touched on the fact that there was no rehearsal or practice time in between towns - I’m surprised more people didn’t die.

I learnt far more than I thought I would. It’s worth it just for the footage.

Thats what I was thinking too, it seemed to be relentless during the season too.
