The battered bds of baseball.
Its a documentary about the portland Mavericks minor league baseball team in the 1970's.
The background is Portland, Oregon lost their major league franchise, the team up sticks and left for Washington state.
Kurt Russell's dad, who was also an actor, but less successful, decided to start an independent team to replace the Major league team and recruits a bunch of no hopers rejected by the majors, paying them $400 a month.
The system in baseball is that even the minor league teams are affiliated to a major franchise, they use that to farm their players.
The Mavericks were the only team in the country to go outside that model, everyone was a free agent playing for the love of the game.
What ensues is great fun and very entertaining, they kick the st out of the major team franchised system, which really gets up the nose of the establishment.
I'm a bit of a baseball fan and love the mindset of the Pacific North West people, so this story appeals to me, but i think a none baseball fan would enjoy this film.
Kurt Russell played for them and his dad used to be bat boy for the New York Yankees as a kid and played in the majors before acting took over, so he knew his stuff.
Give it a go, it gets more fun as it develops.

El Camino....
Great ending to BB. Basically telling us what happened to Jesse after all the shenanigans of the last episode. Don’t expect too much, Walt doesn’t come back to life as a zombie and go on a shooting spree (sorry if that spoils it for you!) but we do see what happened to Jesse and a satisfactory conclusion to one of the greatest TV shows in history....IMO!
If you loved BB then this is a must.....and there is a nice surprise in there too!

Jessie did not deserve that ending IMO. Great ending to BB. Basically telling us what happened to Jesse after all the shenanigans of the last episode. I am really enjoying El Dragón. Spanish spoken and subbed, but still good.
20 minutes in and oh my god the acting is seriously wooden. Seems to be moving along at pace though so I'll persevere. November 13 : Attack on Paris
A genuinely moving 3 part account of the terror attacks at the stade de France, Parisian bars and the Bataclan.
Interesting to see a proper in depth program that isn’t totally Americanised.
Far more emotional in its style than your typical panorama type program.
Well worth a watch!

Just finished Unbelivable. Absolutely gripping and compelling. Can’t remember the last time something hooked me so quickly and made me want to just keep going and going as soon as an episode finished.
Started this tonight and I'm hooked.GetCarter said:

OK, now I am enjoying this - however I did get a shock when I decided to see how many episodes. 38. THIRTY fkING EIGHT!!!!!! I'll still persevere, since it's interesting/fun, but since Mrs Iroc has no interest it's not that easy to binge on
I hadn't looked to see how many there were but was surprised as my view count kept on going up with no end in sight. I think I am in the low 20s.Nimby said:

Just watched Game Changer with my maximum cynical head on.
Despite that bits of it were genuinely compelling.
Although I'm still sceptical about some of it. A 20% increase in bench press, for me that would be 140kg to 168kg, which just isn't possible or should I say that's atleast 6 months of hard training.
My interest was piqued enough to do some of my own research. This guy can articulate my concerns better than I could. He basically rips the whole documentary to shreds apart from the impact livestock farming has on the environment.

That's an excellent critique...I turned off game changers after about 20mins as I could see how biased and non evidence based it was. The fella who write the above linked article took it to the next level!Despite that bits of it were genuinely compelling.

Apache Warrior.
Real life Apache helicopter crews.
Interesting story / mission.
About half way through, should be really interesting - but something about the cast and format / editing is really annoying.
ETA: Worth sticking with to see the outcome.
