Currently rewatching Star Trek TNG. Apparently each episode cost around $2m to make. Hard to believe it debuted in 1987. It's a shame they binned series 8 in favour of the films.

And I can't wait for new Picard series.

Anyone watched the OA?
Saw it last night and watched 3 episodes. I don't know anything about it so just watching and working it out as I go along.

I think I like it but not sure.
The first series?

Prepare for disappointment
I loved it, thought it was great
Yep, me too, big fan of The OA
And me

I watched it without knowing anything about it and just thought it was great

I recommended it to anyone who would listen but no one really thanked me in a way that made me feel like they appreciated it the way they should

Is there like an 'in' joke with the OA?
Seems so much hype about it but it's just a normal watch and forget series so far?

hehe

I thought it was good, if a bit weird... thought the ending of S2 was cool ...

If you liked OA, check out Maniac ... quite similar and doesn't seem like its had that much fanfare about it...

It'll go off on a bit of a tangent soon if I remember...

I've loved the Irishman, so atmospheric and classic Scorsese. Pesci , Pacino and De Nero are a masterclass - perhaps the final farewell to the mob film genre?

The freaky young / old thing - is this the future?

I don't know whether it's already been mentioned but I've just finished watching the excellent documentary Shelby.

I don't think it has as none of us knew you were watching it. How was it? biggrin

In other news, we sat through the entire Irishman film last night, enjoyed it, well made and very clever, however, we both thought it could have been an hour shorter, that would have had more impact.

Greg Davies’s Man Down is on from series 1. It’s very good and I love the opening credits.
You may never see a Triumph Acclaim again.

I thought it was about an hour too long. I normally crave longer films but this one ran out of story. It would have been more interesting for me if it wasn't presented as fact when the Sheeran story is largely discredited.

Quite enjoyed Pesci playing a non-squeaky role for a change however I couldn't really believe De Niro was a hardman. The de-aging couldn't make him look sttaight-backed and strong.

And isn't Pacino tiny? Not sure I've noticed it quite so much in previous films.

For made-up history, I much preferred Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - but as I didn't watch that on Netflix, it may not count for discussion here.

I really enjoyed this. Like you say, it needs zero processing power and there are genuinely some laugh out loud moments.

I Am Mother. An excellent bit of sci-fi, certain elements reminding me of ‘Moon’. Tiny cast but a tight story very well told.

The Irishman.

I watched it twice to get a better understanding as there are a lot of names and stuff happening. It is good but not casino good. Worth a watch 7.5/10

Binged the first season of Final Space and enjoyed it a lot. I find particular joy in Mooncake being so OTT powerful and how totally loathed Kevin is even when he saves the day. laugh
