Fighting with my family.

Interesting and understated take on the true story of Norwich council estate girl turned international WWE wrestling star, uplifting, and very well done and accurate to the real life characters and story.

I wasn't expecting much but very much enjoyed it.
Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. The credits clips from the documentary back up your "accurate" comment
It's well worth seeking out the original xhannel 4 documentary The wrestlers: Fighting with my Family, it's not on all4 anymore, but i managed to find it on reddit hosted on vimeo.

It gives much more background on the older brother and family as a whole, its actually spooky how faithful the movie is to the real world characters and majority of events, very unusual for Hollywood.

Although it does omit the fact she was the champion of their developmental brand for nearly a year before she won the main title. But I can understand why they would do that in order to make the underdog narrative more believable.

I am not usually one for war documentaries but WW2 in colour I am enjoying at the moment. Smashed 3 episodes in one sitting last night.

New Eddie Murphy film.... Dolemite is my name.

About the rise of ‘blacksploitation’ movies, and indeed the origins of rap music.

Didn’t fancy it at all but turned out to be riveting, funny, charming and entertaining. The whole family enjoyed it too. Which is rare.

Just watched Tell Me Who I Am for the 2nd time.

Jaw dropping true documentary of identical twins, one of which has a motor bike accident and loses his memory. The other brother then has to help him rebuild his life....but he missing out a few important bits!!!

It’s one of those films that is built around interviews with both of the brothers explaining their own stories before it culminates in a head to head ‘chat’ at the end.

Harrowing, sad but ultimately inspiring.....a must watch.

In not sure if I knew the rock was a wrestler or just forgot. He's come a long way since. If anyone has not seen his motivational speech talking about his hard times it's worth a watch.

Gets better from about 7 episodes in when the “twist” is revealed. But still a 6/10 series for me.

Tried watching Uncut Gems this evening but had to switch it off after 15 minutes. The sound was abysmal - lots of people talking at the same time, music playing too loud to actually hear any dialogue. Awful.

Or maybe I'm just getting old and this is the film equivalent of "that's not music, that's just noise".

We didn't miss anything then. God knows where all of those good reviews came from.

Mrs T and I watched Uncut Gems tonight, both of us were browsing the internet on the phones by midpoint. 2 and a bit hours of shouting and swearing, Adam Sandler channeling Pacino at his most over the top. 4/10

I watched this expecting a comedy staring the Rock.
Slightly disingenuous advertising I thought, as Dwayne was in it for about 5 minutes.

Enjoyed it though.

Started watching this Saturday night... stayed up to finish the series. Very good, few holes and continuity issues, but very good nonetheless

I’m on episode 4 - enjoying it for the most part but it’s a tad slow at times. Also, I’ve never seen Stockport & Bury look so (relatively) good!
