More than likely come up before, but I'm enjoying 'The Spy', Sacha Baron Cohen as an Israeli spy in Syria in the 60's
Loved this. Who knew SBC was such a great straight actor? A fabulous performance.

Tried watching Uncut Gems this evening but had to switch it off after 15 minutes. The sound was abysmal - lots of people talking at the same time, music playing too loud to actually hear any dialogue. Awful.

Or maybe I'm just getting old and this is the film equivalent of "that's not music, that's just noise".
Watched last night, agree 100%. Utterly awful experience.

Started to watch The Stranger last night.

Based on the harlen coben nivel but set in england

3 epidodes in and enjoying it
I’m 2 in certainly got my attention.
I’m 2 in as well. So far its quite engrossing.
Up to ep6 so far, it is pretty good
Started watching this Saturday night... stayed up to finish the series. Very good, few holes and continuity issues, but very good nonetheless
I’m on episode 4 - enjoying it for the most part but it’s a tad slow at times. Also, I’ve never seen Stockport & Bury look so (relatively) good!
Watched episode 1 on Friday for a 45 minute filler before watching Hotel Mumbai on Blu-Ray (from one of those old school Love Film style subscription services) by 10.30 last night we finished the series. A great watch and still got Hotel Mumbai to watch tonight smile

Yep, Mrs A and myself tried it on Saturday, managed about 15 minutes then it was either turn it off or throw the television out of the window.

Another strong endorsement here. Norsemen is right up there with the best modern sitcoms IMO.

Also watched last night and I'm shocked we're in the minority. That opening scene got me quite excited - I thought it was going to be another 'Blood Diamond' type film, but it was all downhill from there. Only redeeming factor was the discovery of Julia Fox's arse.

2/5.

Watched Safe last week. Bloody brilliant series.

Funny, loads of plot twists and lots of flashbacks that gradually build up the bigger picture yet contain twists themselves.

Uncut Gems, watched it on Saturday thought it was good, I do like Sandler though and I thought the story line of this hapless jeweller/con man trying to keep all the plates spinning whilst the vultures circled quite compelling to watch, I wanted it to really workout for him as his plans got more and more desperate and it did, but the ending wasn't what I was expecting.

I thought it was pretty good too (for a Sunday night).

Just the pace of his life started giving me heartburn!.. bit of an odd ball film, not what I was expecting and a bit hard to get an actual fix on who was really nasty, who was a criminal and who was just a hustler.

Trawling through my list, I found 'Godless'

3 years since I first watched it!yikes

I forgot what a truly epic mini series this was. For those that haven't seen it, I thoroughly recommend it.

Now on ep 3 smile

Started watching the stranger.... maybe I just need to go with the flow but the 2nd episode is very far fetched.

Watched them all now, it's very good.

It's also fun playing the spot the location game for me, as a Manc who hasn't lived there for 15 years. They picked the posh bits a fair amount. biggrin

Some of it is, you just have to go with the flow.

Had to turn this off when everyone was shouting and behaving irrationally at the same time. Went back to it and saw it out. The only film that has annoyed me, and had me rooting for the baddies. The second part was better and the ending - didn’t see that coming although it should have come sooner. The acting is first class, and the press critics loved it, Oscar-tipped. Bizarre film. Probably a future classic.

I'm currently watching Another Life which is turning out to be quite annoying. The thing that really grates is that all the so-called astronaut specialists are shouty, violent and irrational whereas the impression I get of real astronauts is they are incredibly calm and controlled in high-stress situations, generally part of the reason they are chosen to do the job.

Not sure what this says about me but I thought it different, indeed brilliant.
