Just finish watching Adam Sandler's Uncut Gems on Netflix. Surprisingly different has a unusual but gripping soundtrack through out the film and some interesting shots.
The film it's self it this one big here there crazyness as he is a Jewish Jewlery shop owner who seems to go to big highs n lows. Worth the watch
I wasn't 100% sure If his girl friend was doing a runner with the money. I suspect she was. And whether Fat Elvis was in on it as he handed her the bagsThe film it's self it this one big here there crazyness as he is a Jewish Jewlery shop owner who seems to go to big highs n lows. Worth the watch

no he was stopping her getting shot
The bit that confused me, and still does, isAdam Sandler's characters outwardly appears to be well off - big diamonds/watches, big car, big house - but has a gambling addiction.
His father in law seems to be minted (picked up by a chauffeured Rolls outside the auction house), as is his brother in law who he owes the gambling money to.
Why would he go through all this trouble and get into such a pickle for "just" a couple hundred grand?
Is it because he feels inferior to his dad and brother in law, and wants to show them that he also belongs to the big boys' playground?
If that were the case, why would he ask them for money to accomplish his goal in the first place?
Or does he just have a gambling problem, end of.
Currently watching Locke and Key with the hatchling (12yo). It's a bit borderline as it's rated MATURE and a 15. THere's no nudity but there is some hints of sex etc. What i've learned is that they teach more in school than i gave them credit for !
It's very good, some scary undertones that are very well done and some that had even me sondering what's about about to jump out and scare the st out of me.
Another one we're watching together to try and balance the educational side is "Night on Earth". Truly amazing camera work.

Not seen this mentioned on the thread before, maybe was when it first came out three or so years ago but something I watched last year was a Portuguese drama/sci-fi called 3%
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4922804/
Season 3 was last year and fourth and final season will be on later this year, cant wait as I have really enjoyed it so far.
Anyway, reason I bring it up now is I have just started watching another Portuguese dram/sci-fi and remembered about 3%. New one is called Onisciente
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11542920
It is all a bit Black Mirror, about being constantly monitored 24/7 by tiny drones, only a couple of episodes in so far, undecided yet on how I would rate it but still very watchable either way.

Just finished the Stranger and enjoyed it, two things that puzzled me though, how did the phone get to the station, get on the train, get off the train and get to the bridge when Tripp was chasing it on the app with the rest of them? I suspected him from the start, not many teachers can afford a house like that, a lovely Rangey and presumably he bought his son that new car. But the phone thing made me think it couldn't be him. Also why the hell would Adam not do a DNA test on "the boys" when everything else the stranger was saying seemed to be true? I was expecting it to come out that Tripp was the father of at least one of them.
Did I miss something or are these just huge plot holes?

Finished The Stranger last night, and I'd give it a 5/10. Maybe a 6 if I was feeling generous
Started off pretty good, it had good potential with a good storyline. But for me, there were far too many plot holes, poor characters, and dodgy acting.
Not terrible, but not great either. The sort of drama an off form ITV would put out on a Monday night

It wasn’t Tripp in the car with them , it was the private detective whose house was going to be demolished. I guess he decided against the DNA because it would show a lack of trust, in his mind anywayDid I miss something or are these just huge plot holes?

He almost did - he hesitated when he saw the hair comb, but then changed his mind. I guess he was worried about what it might revealDid I miss something or are these just huge plot holes?
