Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
Watching that cat program, it feels a bit 'reaction porn', watching people get emotionally over videos that have already seen for the camera, which makes me feel a bit uneasy considering what the cat killer does.
It is very amatuerish and set up to feed on emotions, I didn't really enjoy, too sensational.

Daybreak. Despite myself, I'm quite enjoying this.
I'm clearly not the target demographic (I'm 50 in a couple of weeks) but it's well written and witty and has Matthew Broderick as a middle aged reacher (with a nod to Ferris Bueller in the first episode).
We just started Schitts Creek on recommendation from friends, we're a few episodes in and, unusually for US comedy, finding it funny.
I thought the same about Daybreak - I'm over double what I expect the target age group is but found it light hearted and enjoyable with a nice spin on things.I'm clearly not the target demographic (I'm 50 in a couple of weeks) but it's well written and witty and has Matthew Broderick as a middle aged reacher (with a nod to Ferris Bueller in the first episode).

Ronny Chieng - Asian comedian destroys America
Hmmm. Netflix comedy specials are so hit or miss - generally because they’re for the American market.
Ronny is a Chinese immigrant and his take on the states is funny, he does disappear into some unfunny stuff but one of the better American comedy specials lately. He’s certainly no joe rogan or Anthony jeselnik but it was watchable.

Is this cats thing graphic?
Sounds interesting but don't really want to be seeing any cruelty etc, assume this isn't shown?
Have only seen the first episode and you see a clip of the actual footage but they do NOT show any animals being harmed (ie they cut the footage before anything actually happens). But that's just E1, I can't confirm for the rest of the series though, but I'll be watching E2 tonight. Sounds interesting but don't really want to be seeing any cruelty etc, assume this isn't shown?

It’s not graphic, any scenes from the actual videos are pixelated and they don’t show the actual killing scenes - but it’s quite descriptive in what happened so still quite shocking Sounds interesting but don't really want to be seeing any cruelty etc, assume this isn't shown?
I feel like the editing (or even the actual story) didn't make much sense going through the timeline.
The knew he was leaving and yet how ever long a flight to Paris is from Montreal, the french fuzz couldn't stop him leaving the airport?
The way they described the events, it sounded like they had plenty of opportunity.

I quite like trashy zombie stuff, I enjoyed Daybreak and Ash and the evil dead, and am currently watching Z nation. I'll put Schitts Creek on my list to watch too. Don’t F**k With Cats - Hunting an Internet Killer
Only 3/4 through episode 1 so far but wow, I’m hooked - 3 part docu-series about someone that posted a video online of themselves killing a couple of kittens, and the subsequent online witch hunt by people from all around the world trying to find out who the killer is. An amazing story so far and not even finished episode 1 yet....
The Sun journalist that interviews him in the documentary is a friend of a friend. I was speaking to him about it in a pub a few years ago and he said he got sent some absolutely sick and threatening messages from the guy not long afterwards.Only 3/4 through episode 1 so far but wow, I’m hooked - 3 part docu-series about someone that posted a video online of themselves killing a couple of kittens, and the subsequent online witch hunt by people from all around the world trying to find out who the killer is. Death Wish 3 - the perfect example of something so far below a 0 it becomes a 10. The first 2 acts involve an elderly Charles Bronson slowly jogging but catching running criminals, killing people with little provocation, mail ordering a rocket launcher and having an entire scene where everyone stands around and admires his custom magnum. The final act is absolutely batst insane, and involves Charles Bronson wiping out legions of goons with a .30 cal his friend brought back from WW2 (admittedly I've never served, but I didn't realise you got to keep your guns when you're discharged), Home Alone style traps, cars blowing up, extras throwing themselves off rooftops and stairwells, and head baddie being blown up by the aforementioned rocket launcher.
